2007 Yamaha Vector Speedometer Display

I want to enable the speedometer Display without starting the sled.
I know there is a way to do it, I have done it many times in the past, but have forgotten the procedure.
It's a combination of a couple of things such as key position and holding another switch. (handlebar warmers?)

make sure kill switch is up. hold down on thumb warmer switch while turning key to on position. continue to hold thumb warmer switch until display lights up.
