When I start the sled there is no headlight, tail light or dash lights. Warms up for a few minutes and everything comes on. Any ideas?

Could be the voltage regulator, but it sounds more like a ground issue, or something where the warmed up connection is working but the cold one isn't. I had that happen on a 550 fan I had once, never did anything about it though. But probably not even comparable.

Cold relay? Yami and 'Doo both experience troubles with relays. Why not Pol too? Find relay - put in new one - see what happens. Keep old one for spare. Don't know - just guessing.

If you have a volt meter, check for AC voltage at the yellow wire going into the regulator, if you can get to it. If not, the yellow wire coming out of the motor by the stator. it should have 12-13.5 volts at 2000 rpm or more. if not, the lighting coil might be going out, or the regulator is dumping all the voltage to ground. I know its hard to check it cold, as it seems to work as it warms up.
