Looking for some help from the knowledge pool on this site. Looking at a possible purchase of a 2009 Polaris IQ 600 with 1700 miles on it. The sled looks to be really clean and in great shape. I think I can get it for $4,200 maybe $4,000. Should I do the deal?

I have a 600 CFI touring with 3500 flawless miles. It's a great engine. Not as smooth as my 600 etec or mpg, but I would buy another poo with that engine in a second.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy a 2009 600. I don't know the pricing/value of any of the sleds but, as far as the motor goes, I wouldn't worry about it.
Let us know what you decide and post some pics if you buy it!

3800 sounds good remember it is a two stroke 10 to 11 mpg plus oil two generations behind current Polaris models.

Just have to change the gas filter every 1500 miles or so. I don't think that sled is all that much different from the new Indy's. I haven't ridden a new Indy, but I think the engine and front and rear suspension are similar. The new chassis probably has some improvements but not sure if any different for trail riding. Plus you get a little more wind protection.

The carbed versions of those ate carb boots, but I'm not sure if there were any similar problems with the CFI.

thats a good price, i just sold my 07 iq 600 with 3300 miles for $3600. rear suspension ain't much different from the current indys, front suspension has its minor differences. It'll ride great, being a CFI you should get 12-14 mpg. The motors were pretty good motors, check oil consumption and go.

You might want to consider the 800 instead. I think there's a thread discussing this engine if you search for it.

Are posts like that necessary? How does that contribute to his question in any way? It's just a smart a** answer. He's asking about a specific sled right down to year, model and engine.

I gave him an honest answer previously. I own a similar sled. I didn't think smart *** answers were an issue on this site but can delete if the sarcasm wasn't obvious...

I had an 07 600 good sled fun to ride and depending how you ride 12 to 14 mpg. That being said as already mentioned the fuel filter needs to be changed every 1500 or you can lean it out. Also the throttle body boots can be a issue and should be carefully examined every fall for cracks but a good sled never any regrets.
