I have the 136" Vector with stock skis and dual carbides, and would like to put new ski's on that float better (front end dives too easy in 2-3' powder) and handle better than the stock skis on the trails. I really like the dual carbide, but not a necessity if the new skis/carbides can hold the trail as good. Any recommendations out there? Thx.

the simmons gen 2 look like toboggans they should keep the nose of that thing up think they are 10in wide with super deep keel's

Stock Yammy ski's are less than stellar! Yamaha had almost struck a deal with USI and found that with the tunability of the X2 Tripple Threat the Yamaha could be dialed in to ones liking. The ski is wider than the stock ski and has lots of options for setup. You should be able to use this ski and eliminate darting with out the use of dually's as well. As for the front end diving in pow? Lots of weight up front makes it hard to keep it floating unless you are on the power.

My buddy just sold his Nytro XTX and he ran the Yamaha Mountain Skis on it last year and loved it on trail and off trail. He kept the skis and is looking to sell them if you are interested. Shoot me a PM if so!

I've run quite a few different aftermarket skis on different machines and I've always been impressed with the Simmons but on heavier nose sleds they definitely increase steering effort. Slydog Powder hounds really impressed me with how well they held a line on the trail while feeling no increase in steering effort. They floated much better than the stock sidehiller 2 skis that were on my 05' 900 RMK. That was a pretty heavy sled before I removed about 40lbs in the front, and that also had a 162x2.4 track. I was amazed how well that cornered on trails being that long. Reasonably priced and only 2 carbides to replace instead of 4.

Last year I put a set of Camoplast skis on my Yamaha Vmax 700. They are about 8 inches wide, and there is a night and day difference between these and the original Yamaha mountain skis.

Front end is not all that light with the triple 700 either

About $225 with mounts at the Milwaukee Snow show. cheapest ones around, and I was pretty impressed
