2010 Backcountry X 800R Out West?

We are heading out to Togwotee to do some mountasin riding on January 16th of 2011. All of us have new summits but one of our buddies has a 2010 Backcountry X 800R and is "iffy" about his sled performing well in the deep powder with the 1.75" track. Has anyone been out west with this sled, or anything similar? If so how did it perform? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Don't expect him to be following the guys on Summits everywhere, but the 1.75 will do ok. We had a few with Gades and only a 1.25, they had fun, but when it got deep, they were struggling, and through the real deep, they were forced to poach tracks left behind the Mtn sleds. If it were me, I would give it a whirl, beats staying home. Also an option, if it snows a lot, he could always rent for a day or so, and as things settle down, go back to the gade.

Skeedoo, Do you have any pics of you riding out west before last Feb and March of 2010? Also, how do you like that F4 helmet?

Yes, I was referring to the helmet in the picture. I'll look at ski doo helmets too but I ride a cat so maybe not. I guess I should have been more clear on the pictures. I was in a hurry and should have been more specific. You have nice pictures and I was just trying to compare snow coverage/depts in your current pictures to years past. I am going out west for my first time this winter and was just wanting a comparison of photos. Would you post some older photos please? Say from maybe 2000 or so to year before last? I don't like to type (one key at a time) or post on forums much because I have to type. Thanks. Greg.

Sheedoo. I'm still here hanging. It's been 10 days now. Just wondering how long I have to wait for a few pictures or if I am just being ignored? I see you have time to chime in on other topics and even post pictures to them. Why not mine? Did I anger you or someting? I'm starting to think more that I'm being ignored and I have no idea why.
