I love the 800R power but I lost count of the bottles of oil I have used. The 800 E-Tek, if it is anywhere near as efficient as the 600 etek it will be a winner.

All 150+HP sleds are fast you just got on one & felt the speed for the first time ....welcome aboard.lol Once you got the power it is hard not to have it.:>) But keep the numbers real like mspease said. Too much experience on this board that takes the demo rides on all sleds & knows the real deal. Doo NOT going to release a sled that does more then high 100 single digits mph. Both Yamaha & Poo had 4s for years that could do 120mph easy but did not gear them to go that fast. Liability issues up the ying yang to sell stock sled that is set up out of box to do 120mph. Where you going to use 120 mph sled not on public trails so on a lake is about it. Enjoy but be safe.

Well if there is "too much experience on this board that takes demo rides and knows the real deal" then why worry if the guy said the sled will doo 140 mph? Nothing wrong with letting someone dream, right? He was just excited riding that sled, like myself. Had it been "your" brand, he probably wouldn't of gotten hammered from you, it would have been someone else! But, that is what people have to deal with on these forums!

Hammered??? You got to be kidding read my posts again.....mspease & I were very nice just got real about about top end & then the poster came back & said yes he got carried away with 140mph. Dream whatever you want but when you post 140 mph demo ride there are insurance implications that could kill the sales of 800eteks & other 800s. Others may not even test ride 800etek & think sled is too hot for them. Hey just over the top statement that was brought back to the real world brands have nothing to do with it.

This is a reoccurring theme/issue on here; it seems especially prevalent with certain brands, LMAO. Unfortunately… it's like they own stock, but as you all know “opinions are like a—holes, everyone has one”, we have to let everyone have there say, even if it sometimes gets a bit repetative.

p.s. whitedust this isn't directed directly at you, just an fyi, its a general comment.

Marty:I like the 800etek & 600etek very good tech. Doo has good sleds no doubt about it. Just so you know the 2 top brands in my thinking are Yam & Doo. The other 2 not so much but that is me only. Like you said 800 etek release hp will be on the conservative side. My Yam 150listed as 144HP or so.......better for insurance. Doo smart doing demo rides on 800etek gives the 600 riders a huge reason to buy up that would not consider 800s. My first big bore twin was doo 800 & test rode in MXZXX in 2001. All the Mags ragged on how stiff the X supension was. Too me if I could hang on to that sled it could handle any trail condition I would see & grooming not what it is today. Doo was ahead of all others & still leads the way. I'm hoping they will expand 4tek just better for me than 2s for high milage riding. Doo just missing mark a bit on 4tek with me & would like to see a model on par with Apex LTXGT with 136 1.25 track clicker shocks & standup handle bars & hooks + 4 year warranty. GSX needs more 4tek HP & bad boy attitude but getting close.
