Watch what tire they put on the truck. My 06 came with Pirellis and the truck was bad on wet or snow covered roads. Now I have BFG all terrains and the truck is awesome in the snow. Limited slip would be a must. Get the upliffters. I am going to add them for me. Also look at the springs in the truck. Make sure they are adequate for what you will be doing (towing, plowing, etc)

Not sure which tires they are. They are listed as LT275/65Rx20E OWL A/T. I am pretty sure that they are all-terrain Goodyear's.

As for the Limited Slip it isn't available in the 250 for 2011. Only Non-Limited Slip and Electronic Locking.

The E-Locking is supposed to act like a mechanical limited slip. Probably works just like my Tundra.

The 2011 Superduty looks really nice, and it sounds like Ford did their homework on this new Diesel. I think Ford and International had a pretty strained relationship after the 6.0L disaster, and having this engine in house "Could" mean better quality control....Time will tell
Did they give out final Power numbers and estimate MPG on this new Diesel? last time I checked they did not have those, but this was a month or so ago.

Congrats on your new truck, thats awesome!

Thanks!

Latest word from the dealer is that they are hearing 400 hp / 750 lb/ft torque and economy around 20 on the highway not towing and mid teens towing. However, numbers as high as 24 highway not towing and 18 towing have been heard. We will see I guess. If they do it right its possible. There are people getting 20's with their tuned 6.4's. So it is possible. They are promising better fuel economy which is the big reason I didn't buy an 2010.

How about a dually?

Nice truck but they say a dually takes all trailer tow issues away. Has anyone gone from a single wheel to a dually that can share the experience?

If they could get 20-23 MPG on the highway I think there would be a lot of guys wanting that truck. The 6.4 guys can get that MPG but it requires the tune and DPF delete from the little knowledge I have on Diesels. Not many guys wanna spend 45-55K on a truck then throw another 2K at it for the computer and DPF delete.....not to mention the lack of warranty unless you have a really good dealer.

I think it looks like a good engine, the Marketing video from Ford is really informative. Keep us informed how it drives when you take delivery, this is a big step for Ford and I know there are many who want to hear how bad azz this engine is!
