Robert,

Not sure where you got your information on Arctic cats being faster and Ski doo having more reliability. I now have owned all four manufactures and not one brand has been better than the others. Sure certain sleds do better than the other brands like sleds, for example the Arctic Cat F7s put the whoop *** on the other brands 700s and even 800s. but the other manufactures have done the same. Ski Doo does have good milage but the others are catching up. I would recommend that you go look at both brands and both dealers and see which one you like best. I don't think you can go wrong with either. Both Arctic Cat and Polaris are built in the USA if that matters.

all depends on what u want to do with the sled.
historically more yrs than not cat has had the fastest stock sled out. but that is straight up drag racing. if I was buying a trail sled or a drag sled I would buy the cat but I am a cat guy.if buying a mountain sled if I could not find a crated 11M I would have to go Pro.
doo has always been more tech new improved hi tech stuff. but that said u could not get me to buy a 800doo that I had too keep after warranty runs out.they don't have a extremely successful long block program for no reason.now a 600 doo I would ride with confidence long after warranty runs out.
if U like hitting the trails hard but not clearing driveways or hitting anything like rocks or trees the doo is the way to go.
if u find your self clearing driveways and hitting the occasional road sign or shooting a corner hot in to the woods the cat will bust a a arm and a shock 300 bucks fixed. the doo will be totaled or at least a 20hr bulkhead swap but till that point the doo will Handel better than the kitty on the trail

There are a couple of places to check things out. 1st narrow it down. 2nd.... go to DT and then HCS AC section and just about every issue ( and even some NON issues that may be come issue's ) will be nit picked to death....LOL
Then go with what you think is best.

On the DOO's I have done an S mod / E mod change..... not too much fun when the snow is flying.
With the new Cats... it is yet to be seen what exactly happens with the new chassis and the rigorous test/ crash/smash worthyness... The snow was Lack Luster last winter and not a lot of riding was done ... for the most part. I'm not convinced that if & when I miss a corner and take out a tree that my front HOOD isn't going to be totalled. ( Just saying )

I'm a fan of the small 600 TNT Doo, but it doesn't have the legs in the stretch... only drawback for me.
If I was to get new doo... I would order an X , that has to be snowchecked. JIMO

For what it's worth, I'm a rock magnet, if there is a rock out in that field.... I will surely find it with my sled. Oh... other things come to mind..... tree stumps, old matress's that the UPers like to throw out, drainage pipes, ect.....
