Has anyone that owns one of these had a "problem" with running out of gas at about 100 miles??? Mine and one other that I am aware of have had issues with this and Ski-Doo says there is no "problem". I ran out of gas at 105 but when I filled the tank it only took 6.4 gallons. There should have been ample gas available but it shut down. Any info on this will help. Thanks

If you haven't done so, it would help to "burp" the tank. That is, when it's full, push down on the rear of the sled for several seconds (at least 10) and then proceed to pump in more gas. You should get anywhere from another half to full gallon. Because of the shape of the gas tank, an air bubble develops and prevents a complete fill-up unless you "burp" it. Hope this helps.
Also.....don't trust the gas gauge. It is as useless as teets on a bull. Figure out what kind of mileage your sled gets and base your fill-ups on that.

Hmm.... prolly getting a bit more than 15+mpg & that is what I have seen with 1200s. I agree try burping see if you can get air out of tank. Did the tank gauge show empty when you ran out? If it did air in there for sure need to displace. If showing other than empty gauge could be off too but test 1 thing at a time. Also might have blocked tank vent tube which will cause you all kinds of pain until corrected. I had pinched gas tank vent tube on Apex but I could see the expanded tank so got it figured out quickly.

He took only 6.4 gallons...that is a far cry from the burp that maybe allows an additional gallon....and he ran out....are you guys getting in another 4-5 gallons when you burp?....if so I guess I now know what BRP stands for.
My AXYS 800 fuel gauge is nervous when it needs 7 out of 12 gallons. Never ran out at 100 miles though. I know it will go 130 to 160 easily depending on cond.
I think there is more to it than a BRP!

The most I have added on my 16 Renegade 600 E-Tec post burp is about 2.1 gallons.
My burb is usually around 1/2 to 3/4 gallons. What you are missing is that there was at least 4 gallons left in the tank and it ran out. The mileage figures out to 16.4 and usually better so that is fine, the problem is running out. I don't trust the gauge, never have never will, but I should be able to ride more then 100+/- miles without searching for fuel. Most of our riding is cross-country backpacking, therefore the concern. My rack is luggage not a fuel caddy.
Also when you fill up try to have the front of the sled sitting higher than the rear of the sled. At many pumps there will be a mound of snow where the sleds sit as being filled and sometimes sled is sitting in downhill position. If the front of sled is lower than the rear you will not get much gas in the tank which may explain only getting 6.4 gallons in it.

All I can figure is your fuel pick up line could be hung up.

First time out I learned of both problems. The fuse blew for reverse (recall) and ran out of fuel in the middle of Lake Vermillion!! (how embarrassing when riding with the Polaris crew!!) I'm leaning to it being a fuel pick-up problem, but because there is no recall situation it won't be covered under warranty. I have refueled about 15-20 times and the most was 111 miles and it took 6.8 gals. However, traveling without spare gas can be a pain in the arse and ruin everybody's day. I would rather cure the problem than to invest in a fuel caddy that I shouldn't really need or worry about searching for gas.

reach your hand into gas fill hole if its large and pull up (carefully and slow) the gas tube pickup line. odds are its too long and curved in the bottom of tank and not laying on bottom and the pickup and filter is high up on the level...or use a needle nose if small opening...get that filter or pickup laying on bottom of tank...the second problem is on the hood...its says BRP.....LOL.....j/k with a DOH
