Starts and runs fine but no tach or speedometer any ideas TIA

Did you check your fuses? I know on ZR's if the helmet cord hits the tunnel or anything it blows the fuse and you loose the instrument cluster.

Pull out the Speedo Pod and unplug it then plug it back in. If that doesn't work bring it to your Dealer.

I have a similar issue with my 2011 etec. The speedo, tach and odometer stop working periodically, maybe 5% of the time. When it goes out while driving, I will hear a beep and they gauges come back to life. All other electronics (lights, hand warmers, etc. ) work just fine all the time. I've taken the gauge pod out, unplugged and greased the plugs and plugged it back in and it made no difference. Dealer told me that they couldn't replicate or diagnose the problem.

Sounds as if you possibly have a "relay" issue? They are the little black boxes in the fuse box.
