I watched the FB Live feed last night. It cut out several times, but I think there were really only 3 things revealed. The new M Alpha1 which has a single rail and provides easier maneuverability in the deep off trail stuff, the click on the fly suspension settings (they showed it on a trail ZR) and electric start on the 200 that came out last year. Seemed like from most of the FB comments viewers were underwhelmed and were looking for more. Textron CEO talked a lot about all their different business lines and how they invest a lot of money into product development. Then he said the difference for them in the sled and off-road market is the dealer network (they sell most of their other products direct to consumers) so this needs to be a partnership. Almost sounded like "we spend money so you better showcase our products well". Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought it came across a little bit like he was telling the dealers to step up their game. Couldn't help but think how MM just did that so corporate should be happy with them.

Here are 3 shots of the Alpha1 I lifted from one of Chad's posts.

I think it will be another year before any changes from Textron's ownership and investment will make much of a impact - the purchase of Cat happened to late to change much for 2019.

Cat made a bunch of exclusive sleds specifically for the Minnesota Vikings players and staff for their achievement in winning the super bowl........but that didn't happen, so they have a surplus of purple sleds Cat doesn't know what to do with, and it doesn't snow in Africa.

So who knows what?

Purple; pinkish purple was AC's mainstay/trim colors in the early 1970's. Just saying, old enough to remember it. Good friend was a Cat dealer. Still have several of the stocking caps. EXT was the big dog back then. Free air Kowie.

You are right on that gary!!!!!!!!!!! The green was a lighter, brighter shade of green back then. Those purple coats were noticeable for sure, waist belt too.

Yeh I am old enough too......but the 440_chazz theory is kind of funny!!

No kidding aside the local sports team players do seem to buy the local branded snowmobiles here in MN....Cat or Polaris. I am sure they sometimes get special deals.

Can I just add a point my wife made while in the UP this weekend? Me and her go to the preview every year and joke about and make fun all the ridiculous color combos from all the manufactures. But it never fails, when we see those very same sleds on the snow 11 months later the ones we though were the ugliest end up not near as bad and most end looking bad azz. Even the McDoo wasnt horrible on the snow. And I'm sure the Arctic Cat/Poulan Wild thing chainsaw edition will look sweet on the snow in person also
