I know John didn't put a lot of weight into the season outlook forecast and he always preferenced that statement at the beginning but I think everybody always enjoyed reading those and getting a little excited for what could be...

I don't know who this forecaster is I just came across the video this morning but it's definitely what we want to hear...

  • "Great Lakes: Record-high lake temperatures will fuel intense lake-effect snow, benefiting resorts in Michigan, Wisconsin, and upstate New York. Expect epic powder days in areas like Boyne Mountain."

Enjoy some good news, even if it's just wishful thinking...

Most of the U.P had a decent winter and northern lower had a really good winter. Personally I am hoping that more of the northern areas get some snow. This sport could use a good season over a lot more areas then just Michigan. Northern Wi. got some snow but it never got to be real good at best it was fair. I know Iron county had there trails at excellent for a short while but to me it wasn't excellent compared to how good it normally gets that way. Be really nice if more of Wisconsin and Minnesota could get in the action. There are a few people who volunteer a lot of time to maintain trails through out the states. The other positive of that is it take pressure off the other areas with snow.

Rode some areas I haven't ridden in for YEARS chasing snow, absolutely no regrets and am hoping we will ride same area again for 2025/2026 season!

Last winter here in the Keweenaw did not suck as far as snowfall was concerned. Third snowiest on record, with that in mind, I really don't want to see a repeat performance. I would settle for a "normal" snowfall for the season.

Just need the snow spread out to other areas.
All the snow in one small area makes for too much traffic and the groomers can't keep up.
Yeah, THIS!

A "good old fashioned" winter would be nice. Like for me as a Wisconsinite, when I can pull up the Travel Wisconsin snow trail website and the whole state of Wisconsin is some shade of blue for weeks and weeks on end.

4 months? yikes, or in your shop? Was just admiring the maps you sent me last year, had them enlarged and laminated to lehak size LOL, looking forward to riding that area again if possible this year!
They are at the mechanics shop. The back up sled is just an oil change but the newer sled cleared 10k miles so having the skid pulled, shock rebuilds, chain case oil, oil change etc.. He is a busy guy with auto repairs and knows I wouldn’t be needing them anytime soon. Besides, people from out west send their sleds here for his work.
