At $11,200 and 485 miles for the season I just paid $23.00 per mile. (not including gas, oil, food and beverages). Ouch!!

That is most likely 10x cheaper than the government could do it for. They would pay $112,00 for the sled.

Some how all your calculations are incorrect to me..........Because to me riding is priceless!!!

Best answer ever! It must be priceless if some of us are willing to spend up to 48 hours in a truck one way just to ride. Makes the 28 hour trip for me to Tog. Extremely priceless. (These are one way travel hours). I supect if we equate missed work hrs.,travel time hrs.,JDee air time hrs. I am about the. $100 a mile range or more. Not even factoring in the sled or gear. So it looks as if the correct answer is priceless.

If the sled is paid for, then don't figure that cost anymore. I guess I should work for the Office Of Budget and Management!!

Actually I only figure the money out of pocket that day is my cost. Luckly, I live where I put on most of the miles so I don't need to figure truck gas, 12mpg towing, and lodgeing.

And as some wise people on here already said, "priceless".
