Been a little hectic around here that past 4 days & nights. Coast Guard Choppers & C-130's in out. Certainly brings a sinking feeling as the time goes by with no signs of anything. Hopes & prayers to all involved.-Mezz

I've been to Isle Royal out of Houghton in a 26' cruiser, beautiful trip out, beautiful trip 1/2 way back, then she turned ugly & quick. I won't do that again, just not in my gene pool to feel that kind of concern on a regular basis. In other words, I was pretty friggin scared! & that was only 9' waves. I am of the understanding that the seas were at 14'. Not my cup of tea.-Mezz

Just saw this TV-6's site:

The coast guard search for the three missing boaters in Lake Superior has been suspended as of 2 p.m. Wednesday.
According to Marquette Coast Guard Chief Patrick Brown, the search has been suspended unless further information presents itself.
In total, all crews involved put 151 search hours into the efforts. This is the most this area has ever seen in search effort, said Chief Brown. The search area covered 14,833 square nautical miles.
Crews covered from Keweenaw Bay all the way out to Michpitcon Island and also along the west side of the Keweenaw Peninula.
Michigan State Police and the Houghton County Sheriff's Office are still searching.
More information will be released as soon as it's available.

That's unfortunate. I agree with mezz, while I have never been on a smaller boat on Superior I have been on a boat on Lake Michigan and when those waves kick up it can get dangerous quickly. Its a scary feeling when waves start crashing over the sides of the front/side of the boat. We were luckily close to the harbor.
