Thanks for posting this. I vividly remember this, I grew up in the Soo, was only a handful of miles away from this tragedy. We were out playing in the storm. Before the rain, the winds were so intense, we were jumping off front porches and the wind would carry us across the front yard, or even into the next yard. I have a scrap book of most every story from the Evening News, and Detroit Free Press newspapers dealing with this.

My Thoughts of the Ship and Crew are with me each time I look out over the Big Lake, May there Souls rest in peace.

Thanks for the post Gary. Always think about the gales of November this time of the year. I'm sure I'll hear the song on the radio today.

they play a eeeeerie radio transmission here on the local FM station each yr.

it's the conversation between the following ship captain and the coast guard.........that guy who went back to look was truly courageous.

btw, that's the same station JD gives his morning forecast on live..........

may they rest in peace....
