55,000 miles for Nick

I was over at Pat's Yamaha in Greenland and Nick Keller was there. I asked him how things were going and he said fine. In the conservation he mentioned he will be hitting 55,000 tomorrow,,,,I think. Has had to replace stuff like slides, 4Th track so far, the wearable stuff we all replace. Motor is still original. I am amazed every time I talk to this guy. He raises a lot of money for charity, riding like he does, he's one heck of a guy. The world is a better place with guys like Nick.

He rode 610 miles on Feb 14th. My most in a day is less than half that and I was exhausted afterwards. He can really pack on the miles...and for a great cause too!

That's nuts. 600 miles in day doesn't even sound fun.
So how many tanks of gas do you need to get to 55,000? That's a lot of fuel burned!

Not sure about his fuel mileage, but let's assume 15 miles/gallon.
55000miles/(15miles/gallon)=3666.6gallons*($3.50/gallon)=$12833.33

Wow! Lots of fuel, but still a great guy doing great things for charity!

I sure hope Yamaha kicks in some cash to his charities. I would hope they would buy the sled back at full price when he is done with it to. Im not a yammy guy, but I would go to a yammy function to check that sled out.

I recently saw his poster from after last year at one of the bars in the UP a few weeks back and I was wondering if he was doing this again, as this is the first I have heard about him this year. Good for him! What he is doing takes dedication and passion.

Nick is a great person. I have talked with him at Haydays the last two years. He has been touched by the ill effects of cancer. This is what drives him to put on so many miles. For a mature man to get tears in his eyes when talking about the loved ones he lost from cancer truely shows he has a big heart.
Way to go Nick...Keep up the good work!

Yamaha has to be sponsoring him, he's in the 2012 sled catalog. If Yamaha isn't sponsoring, their missing the greatest marketing tool ever!!!!! 55,000 miles on a sled, that's insane!

Thats good! With what Yamaha charges for sleds, they can afford to throw the guy 50K a year.
