600 etec rebuilt 2012 mxz

Is it normal to get a flashing engine lite every time i hit 5500 rpms. took it out today for a maiden voyage of about 15 miles.It runs as it should other than the engine lite at 5500.IM hoping the computer is detecting the rebuild and wants a slow break in. thanks for some input.

are there break in modes . do i need to bring it to a dealership for diagnostics

Little confused. So the motor was rebuilt? By you, doo dealer, small repair shop???

Have dealer with BUDS system pull the code(s).

had a tech from local dealer do 2 new pistons rings and hone the cylinders.he did the work at home.side job.

I’m no Doo guy but with pretty good certainty it’s not detecting it was rebuilt. My guess is he tweaked something or forgot to plug some sort of electrical sensor in. I’d give him a shout. I’ve done a lot of work to sleds and it’s super easy to forget something especially on these newer sleds.

thanks Indy.I decided to take it to the dealer in town . they can hook it up to diagnostics. Im hoping its something simple and wont go over the 100.00 mark. I wish I had your tech abilities.
