800 Rush engine questions

My 2011 800 Rush has 4400 trouble-free, fun-filled miles and I would like to get a couple more years out of it. Does anyone know how long I can expect this engine to last? Are there any issues that I need to be aware of? My dealer says I should do a top end job including replacing the pistons and also the reeds and boot assembly. Is this good preventative medicine? I was averaging 2500 miles a year but not the last two. By this time next year I could have 7000 miles on it. I would appreciate any helpful advice. Thanx.

Trade it in get a new one your dealer is trying to tell you something if you don't trade in value will be nil even with engine work just won't strand you but nobody wants Rush with high miles non currents Rush are inexpensive you like it buy a newer Rush. Dealer is wanting you to connect the dots for yourself....I get it talk to him about trade in & new or non current Rush. Although you have a 2011 why not buy it with zero miles non current rather than spend big bucks on rebuild? Check out M&M in MN exceptional prices on non current Rush.

If you trade it now it will still be worth something. If you trade it next year with 7000 miles it won't be worth much. Not many folks looking for 7000 mile poo's. Especially 800's.

I looked at non-current Rush's last fall. Kid almost had me goin' for it. Could have bought either a 600 or 800, '11 or '12 relatively cheap.
But once I did the research about those things, I quickly forgot about it. But they do have nice shock adjust-ability, the question is, how long before you need to rebuild them too?
Take other's advice - sell now and buy new.

Run good gas and quality oil in it and ride it. Dealer wants you to buy new or pry money out of you. Inspect boots, clean power valves and ride. Keep it under 8000 rpm and you will be fine.

You are at the point that it would be a very good idea to move on. This is from an old doo guy that got stuck with 800 frozen crank & flaking rings right about same miles as you. My dealer never said a word but they knew about doo 800 problems & at least your dealer is saying something without saying it. As advised call M&M you know what you want & what you like protect yourself.
