906 Copper - my side hobby!

I have a family business that I resurrected last fall. My grandfather started the business in 1977, my Dad took it over in 1991, and I worked there from the late 1980’s to 2012 when they sold it for a song. My wife and I have careers in other fields, I’ll be retiring in 4-5 years and changing careers and going back into it with more steam. I truly love creating copper sculptures and selling them. Feel free to check out the Facebook page and inquire! A little discount to JD members! See the link for my hobby deal below, I’ll also post some pics too! All done by hand! No machines!

It’s a fun hobby! A bit more of biz history on the book of faces info. My wife does that stuff I don’t do social media except for the JD form!
Anyway, for those of you have seen the Bishop Baraga shrine over Keweenaw Bay, my Grandfather was the primary welder on that in the early 1970’s!
Fun stuff

Checked out your FB page, very nice work! There are some talented people on this site. Planning on contacting you about a Walleye silhoutte wall hanging for the cabin. Would make a great surprise Christmas gift for my wife.

I remember his grandparents well, nicest folks with a heck of a sense of humor, especially his grandma Lois. I can recall seeing him in the gift shop with a torch in his hands at a relatively young age & wondered what he was doing as his Mom would say to him, that's enough heat. He is creating these just as his Grandparents & Dad & Mom use to do. Nicely done.

I wanted to share a project that Chris (m8man) did for me.

I talked to him a while back about doing a Walleye piece to hang on the wall that I could give my wife for Christmas. We talked a bit about the concept and he threw out some ideas that I really liked and he went to work.

I had seen photos of the finished work but I picked up the actual piece at the post office today and it’s simply amazing. It’s exactly what I wanted and it’s beautiful, love the coloring and effects he put on the pure copper.

I think he has a lot of stock items but if you have a custom idea in mind, do not hesitate to get in touch with him. He is reasonable, creative, and takes a lot of pride in his work.

I’m using one of his photos because he had a better back drop but one thing that might not be obvious is that this is a fairly large piece, roughly 30 inches long. Can’t wait until she sees it and it’s hanging on the wall.

Rough “guestimations” around $200 ~ $250 ish plus shipping.

prices can vary based on complexity and size but I always provide a solid quote prior to starting.

extremely popular and “cheaper“ items are copper UP’s and even any state. Did a custom MN for some young snowmobiles group called the Cboys from MN.

I enjoy this metal work!
