98 Ski Doo mach Z 800

I am trying to remove the oil pump from a 98 ski doo 800 Mach Z because it is leaking oil from the gasket. I took out the 2 bolts that hold it on, it is loose, but it will not pull out. From the OEM diagram it looks like it is connected to a gear on the back side. Do I need to take out the stator housing, or is there a different way to get that pump out?

Any help would be appreciated.
