99 Polaris XC 500 Motor Needed

Hey Everybody,

My buddy has a 99 Polaris XC with a 500cc liquid, no exhaust valve. By the looks of the engine this is not a Fuji.
Any way, he was riding this weekend when the PTO side rod let loose and went through the case.
Does any body out there by chance have one of these motors complete and want to sell it?
Or, does any body know any salvage yards that have complete motors?
I tried Als out east, according to his web site he has one, I'm just looking for more sources.

Worst case, does anybody have parts for this engine that they would want to get rid of? At the very least I/we would need a complete crank case, complete crank with rods, and the PTO side cylinder. We'll buy new pistons.

Well, changinge engines was a thought. Can one drop in a 600 without doing any modifications? Will the clutches align? We do not intend to do any mods whatsoever.
Do the 600's have exhaust valves? How would that work, I mean are the exhaust valves controlled by something like they are in the new Poo's?
how about coolant lines?

If you got a 600 non-ves big block, it should fit. Don't know about 600 small block w/ves.

Here is a newer motor, may have to swap head, carb boots, stator and flywheel but everything should bolt up from there. I don't know if it still for sale or not........

Parting out an Polaris 1999 XC 500 with 4000 miles. Have hood, seats, engine. Let me know what you need and I will give you some pricing. Everything is in good shape. Lots of parts left.
