Prayers to you!
I'm sure there will be a lot of people you will help with your story here!
Tons of people read this forum will never post on any any topics because their not members or shy!
I have a ton of friends that are on here every day and have never ever posted!
It WILL inspire someone to quit smoking or chewing or whatever!
I have smoker and chewer buddies that this could help open their eyes!
I guess JOHNDEE.com is kind of like a snowlovers Oprah!

Good luck with your recovery and I hope and pray for you!

again thanks for all the replies just little update. I'm home now good to be home my one dog seems little to happy to see me won't leave me alone he's a over loving pitbull. But I guess this is where I start my little journey of becoming smoke free I got the first 48 hours behind me so that's a good start .I smoked 2 packs a day so this is going to be tough . And about the Rodney Dangerfield quote very funny.

Bob again

My girls all played travel softball and there were always T shirts at the tournaments. I was so happy to give them the $ knowing that was just my chew $, seeing them happy with those shirts was great motivation! They tell me often how proud they are of me, well worth effort but the hardest thing I have ever done.

If you used to smoke 2 packs per day, go to your wallet and put $10 bucks in the cookie jar.

Each day you stay off the smokes, you put $10 more in there. (It is what you would have spent)

YOU KNOW THAT NICE NEW SLED YOU THOUGHT YOU COULDN'T AFFORD?????

By this time next year you will be looking at a shiny new sled purchased for you buy the tobacco companies....and you will have earned it and right about now, your wife and kids will help you go pick one out....no questions asked.

How many folks are reading this right now and smoking a new sled up each year??? New year...new life...and next year a new sled. How can you beat that?

Motivation...bud....it's all about motivation.

Chantix worked for me. I didn't take it very long but it really made a difference. Look into it pal. Its a tough battle. Getting a little help never hurts. PM me if you have questions about it. Good luck!!

reiley best of luck to you. Quitting is hard, I did it for 7 years and was stupid enough to start up again when I was getting a divorce. It's been 3 yrs now and I keep telling myself I will quit again, I just need to get off my butt and do it. I guess the point I was trying to get to was don't fool yourself that just one cig won't hurt. That's all it took for me to want more. For me it took over a year before cigarettes smelled bad so hang in there it takes time but you can do it!!
