Yea, it would be nice to clean these dead cams up. Does John have any trusted users that have the knowledge and access to help him with some of these tasks?

What's up with all the dead cams?
I work at keeping mine going and its not that big a deal?
Does anyone even check mine out at the Scottishack?
I run a bright light on it at night so it can be looked at 24/7
I have to wonder if I'm wasting the electric bill on just me?
I know there hasn't been much to watch with this weak snow season so far!
What's the vote? keep it lit up or save the electricity?
How bout you other cam owners get on the ball and get them going again!
Just sayin!

Keep it going Scott, maybe place a can at Krupps for donations for electric, Diana could be the keeper of the can.

It will be left up and ON!
I don't need any donations!
It's my pleasure to have it for all of us snow lovers!

hey scottiking as a snowcam owner myself (http://www.johndee.com/webcam/irons.jpg) I know all that is into keeping a cam up and running and appreciate all the effort from other cam operators, I check out many cams all over the site daily and agree with you there are way to many down for long periods of time, I live 260 miles from mine but I do everything I can to keep it going just no light, I like the ones with lights and agree with others to keep yours going.

I got one setup i use KABcam and don't have a light and just have it take a pic from 7AM to 4:30pm that way when people look at it at night they don't see a black screen they just see the last pic taking of the day.

nice Webcam scottiking thanks for sharing it

hey turbo ya I run KABcam also I did run it like you say but I had a lot of trouble with power outages and upload issues and connection problems also I run dialup internet service so being 260 miles away I set up a system that reboots every 3 hours so it will disconnect any phone problems and I don't have to deal with the lights on or off, all the things to run a cam I still love it.
