Moose are the most dangerous animal to encounter out west. They will defend their territory and will not back down.We were told if we met one on the trail to turn around.

Moose are very unpredictable I get the guy was trying to look big to the moose but moose charged anyway. Statistically moose are top of the list for stomping people when encountered. Moose are dangerous animals and this video proves that.

My dad always had an interesting saying when he saw a situation like this “stupidity has its own rewards”
I don’t think the guy screwed up he did what’s typical to back off large animals. Believe me I ran off several black bears this way. Imo black bears are more predictable than moose but either back off or stand your ground and if you stand your ground look bigger than the animal at bay. I’ve been charged by moma whitetail does all depends on how that animal reacts on a given day same as me. That doe pissed me off on my own property so sicked my daughters lab on her end of problem. Same with black bears they had to understand what was mine with gkids around not welcomed in my territory.

There aren't too many people that are going to look bigger than a Moose. A black bear will react differently when encountered like this in the wilderness, Moose, no way, sudden movements piss them off & immediately go on to an aggressive defense mode. He should have grabbed a handful of throttle & left. Nonetheless, a lucky guy. This time....

The way I understood the video was the moose got between the 2 riders. The guy who got rushed climbed on his sled seat to appear bigger and typically waved his arms. I understand what he did but I probably would have given the moose more room hoped he moved and went on his way. Imo there should not have been a sense of urgency but who knows what was up?
