A Sunday Morning 60 miler

Like most of us, if you have a chance to ride locally, you take it. I made a quick rip Sunday morning in Winnebago and Outagamie counties in Wisconsin. This would be west and north of Oshkosh and Appleton. The trails were mixed, some very nice and others early season. Surprisingly, much of the snows from this past week were drifting so the groomers will have something to work with. It's been a few years since I could blast through the drifts to get a face full. Tip of the hat to the local clubs, Wolffs Pack and Drifters for making the most of it. Mixing the good with the bad, I'd give our local trails a 6.

I made a short stop to take a pic of the Greenville water tower along the trail.
This is Indy 500's hometown but Indy was nowhere to be found.
(probably in church or riding somewhere up north)

Oh, and a big thank you to the guys that helped me dig out when I did a nose-dive into a culvert and ditch.
I didn't see that one coming!
🙃

Gary, when were you near Greenville? I saw a solo blizzard just like that behind me briefly yesterday around 3pm maybe, I was on my dads 19 MXZ x 600 with a tall windshield going home to get the truck and trailer to go rescue his 14 Indy 600. I live about 2 miles as the crow flies northeast of where you took that picture.

Edit, I did just see you posted these at 11am so must not have been you! I was at the middle school running a baseball practice, and we went out and rode after-noon.

Greenville trails are in excellent shape but mostly due to a lack of traffic because of all of the dead ends in our trail system. Good thing you didn’t go straight west of me. South side of New London near Bean City is nothing but dirt. Way too much traffic. World of difference as soon as you get 5-10 miles away from there.

I did ride down to the beehive Saturday for lunch busting trail the entire way.

Very cool Gary! This the kind of stuff you hope for. Get a nice dump of snow and hit it early. Snow looks good, better than a lot of areas are seeing this year.
