Air boat for snowmobile salvage

Ever seen this before? I was talking to a friend this morning who has purchased an air boat with a 350 chevy in it. They are installing a crane on the front to recover snowmobiles. I think its a great idea. Probably been done before but I have never seen or heard of this. The air boat can go right over the ice, water, or land. Im sure it is a lot cheaper than a hoover craft.
They have a friend who has one on the Chain O Lakes in Illinois that has a 454 in it! They were blasting around Grass Lake yesterday. They say that thing does nearly a 100mph and is a scary ride. Imagine hitting an ice heave. I bet they could easily make an air boat jumping record ;)

dont think i would want to slam a ice heave in a old fiberglass hull.how many sleds go down in your parts that you need a dedicated retreval system?my buds who live on the river with tons of open watter only seee or get word of 3 or 4 a season and those are usualy drunk skippers.the lake around my house usualy has 2 or 3 a season allways in a chanel no more than 6 or 7 deep

awsome idea,after kiling the motor it will still float in summer or winter !
hope they get to make sum money with it !...minus any injuries !
