Air Conditioning keeps running, does not cycle

One possibility is it might not be big enough for house and can't keep up in extreme heat. Good luck

Any good A/C installer know those numbers sometimes less is more with A/C. No good to cool air shut down & then back on shut down then right back on. Still think if the A/C was properly rated there is a leak some where & can be easily fixed.

Any status update ? Today seems like a good day to have A/C...... Sounds like you need to have a qualified service tech come and check your system, which may or may not be covered by you warranty but needs to be done. You said the motor quits after a while, which one ? you have 1 in the compressor, the cooling fan and your blower motor on the furnace. All of these need to run when the system is calling for cooling, if any of these stop running they should be replaced. The freon charge needs to be checked, it has to be in a certain range or the system won't work. Checking the temperature just past the A coil (in furnace plenum) and at the register (a instant read chef type thermometer is helpful) will give you an idea if your cooling output is sufficient and heat gain from the environment is the problem.

So I checked out the HVAC system down in my basement. And I noticed the duct work has no sealant around the joints and air is coming out of those joints. I went out and bought some aluminum tape and started taping some of the joints. Doing that to one vent duct has increased air flow. So I think I might have some air flow problems rather than actual problem with the AC. The air coming from the AC out of the vents is cold. I measured a temp of 54 degrees coming from the vents so that is plenty cold to cool, but my air flow in the vents is spotty. Some vents are strong and some are slow.

my last furnace had a way to jumper some contacts to increase fan speed (right in the book) so I did that and it did blow harder. My house was a 2400 sq ft ranch and was hard to cool.

If your blower fan has multiple speeds you can wire for faster speeds A/C usually automatically should blow at the higher speed than heat blower speed thru your circuit board. If your duct vents are in a slab you may have obstructions in the vents & not easy to fix. If all your metal work is above ground you can look thru most of it for obstructions. You can also purchase vents with blowers to help pull air flow thru ducts. It is also normal to have some vents blow harder than others depending on distance from blower. Going to be very hot so good time to test solutions.

Sounds like you need to balance your HVAC system.

Make sure to look at your duct work and see if there are any dampers inline. Check to see if they are open, close, partial open, etc...

You will use these to balance the system.

Yes I balance mine for heat & AC send AC to upper levels & heat to lower levels via dampers a Fall/Summer adjustment.
