Envious of the guy in this picture when the temps hit the 90's with high humidity, give me a job near or on the water.
This guy is responsible for towing and anchoring at the Sea Plane base. It's a small lagoon on Lake Winnebago, just a few miles from the airport. I've been there many times by boat and watercraft. Normally peaceful, but this week, with all the noise of aircraft coming and going. Yeah, I want this guy's job next year!

A couple of pictures that I missed posting from my visit to Boeing Plaza.

Here's the last piston driven, passenger liner of the industry. The Constellation. She flew in the 50's and was replaced by the jets in the early 60's.
Back when I had a sled with an unpainted tunnel, I dreamed of a finish like that. But it never happened. Not that I didn't try!

Ever hear of the Flying Tigers?

This is what they flew, the P40 Warhawk.

And it should be no secret....

They flew this one over Cuba in 1963 during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
the U2 Spy Plane

As I sit at my computer writing this, I can hear the Jet Aircraft performing from 10 to 15 miles away. Our military aircraft are truly incredible to witness. That and the people who fly them and maintain them are some very special people. We're fortunate to have them!

And that wraps another day. It started out with rain and then it just turned plain steamy, hot and humid for the remainder. Temps should be somewhat better in the days to come as Thursday is expected to be another busy day at AirVenture in Oshkosh. We'll catch you on the Flip!
