The Four Seasons (Italian: Le quattro stagioni) is a set of four violin concertos by Antonio Vivaldi. Composed in 1723, The Four Seasons is Vivaldi's best-known work, and is among the most popular pieces of baroque music. The texture of each concerto is varied, each resembling its respective season. For example, "Winter" is peppered with silvery pizzicato notes from the high strings, calling to mind icy rain, whereas "Summer" evokes a thunderstorm in its final movement, which is why the movement is often called "Storm.

Since this is a beautiful late spring morning in Door County I invite all of you to take a 10 minute break, get a cup of coffee, relax, and enjoy this-

dcsnomo, You should know that most folks on this site are uncultured and quite comfortable being that way. Something that would have appealed to us clods would have read more like this : The Four Seasons (Spanish : El Puko projectillus) is a collective work of a soft rock band masterminded by the ear violating falsettos of Franki Valli. Composed in the late 60s and early 70s, many lives were ruined by these popular but brain frying noises. The texture of each song hardly varied at all. Sooner or later Valli would cut loose his horrible nasal whine and blow out all the tweeters in your system. For example, "Winter" is a song about a colonoscopy performed with frozen instruments. Bad from start to finish. "Summer" evokes painful memories of irritable bowel syndrome combined with gonorrhea. The painful wailing of Valli combined with the morbid rumblings the rest of the no talent band cranked out is enough to make the average person want to swallow a porcupine whole. After assaulting the airwaves for a short time the Four Seasons were replaced by Barry Manilow who went on to ruin many more lives. Since this is a rainy cold day in Kittson County I remind you that none of these people are making any new music so be happy and grateful.

Dc...while i am not surprised that you enjoy this music which btw will endure, I assure you far longer than the heavy metal ear blastings many on here subject themselves to in an all out effort to keep the Lamborghini stabled in the audiologists garage over the next 25 years or so, I can't help wonder why you took on such a thankless task to try and edgimakate the masses? In the future I would appreciate it if you would avoid such efforts in order to keep ticket prices for these events affordable for me. One needs to "feel" the music and appreciate the composition which can not be justly performed over a computer speaker or cheap set of head phones. While I suspect that there is little danger in exposing the likes of this music in a performance as this beautiful woman exhibits, we do not want to create a seriously delusional crowd from those who would go their entire life without ever once hearing and feeling these wondrous string vibrations sooth an aging set of ears.

So ....go peal an onion, and/or crack open a beer next time you go off on this subject and it will pass!

Nobody makes any money these days playing strings. The masses don't have Mozart and Bach in their collections. What is sophisticated and timeless and what is garbage is purely subjective. You have to remember that Frank Zappa was called in to instruct the London Philharmonic Orchestra on how to use a moog synthesizer. True fact. The work of the true 'Masters' is being replaced by Lady Gaga. You can't promote your music when you are dead. Unless you are Elvis.

DC, Nice to see and hear.

Skylar, you would love a pub hopping trip around Wales. They will also teach you the "football songs". The singing is a big part of their music and it is a great time. They also have good beer.

Moose-I figured I would lead with the beautiful woman and suck them in...appears to be a failed strategy! Glad you enjoyed it!

Same thing Ezra, I was forced to listen to the classics, while being told how awful the music was that I listened to.. Hmmmmm.. Any similarities to brand bashing? Brand loyalty? While I appreciate the "classics", I appreciate all forms of music. My feathers do get ruffled a bit when I'm told I'm not cultured because I don't listen to someone else's musical preference. I've owned cat, doo, yami and polaris, played viola and piano. I like what I like, you like what you like. Now.. as far as intelligence and mental capacity???? The jury's still out.. I can't stop buying these million dollar snowmobiles year after year, hoping it will snow enough so I can ride for 2 months if I'm lucky.... Dang, It would be cheaper just to put a big "C" clamp on my head and sit through another classical music concert!! I'm not even gonna talk about watching a ballet from the 3rd row and getting a close up view of the dancers in their fancy stretchy long undies!!! Yes!! I'm very afraid of "culture." LOL!!!
