Did anyone see the story yesterday about Amazon working on delivering orders with a drone? I thought that was pretty cool and was thinking if the Poo 800 keeps acting up, Kip can drone pistons out to us right on the trail! ;)

I saw that story cool stuff.
my 2nd thought wont happen. teamster lobbyists are prob already on it.

One thing I saw said that they did it as a publicity stunt. They said even if they shipped just a quarter of their sales by drone the sky would be black.

X2 probably never happen you can't just start flying drones around in USA air space lots of laws to overcome & would be super expensive.

hitting power lines, your trees? where is it going to leave the package in the middle of your lawn? on your Drive way? What if it's raining. I don't see that being very successful. We can't even have our phones on when we take off in an airplane (as of today). How can they fill the skies with drones? What's next? No more google earth....just google drones? you can see what's going on where ever you want? What privacy? Google drone and follow your kids around???

Ok think of it this way I want my Big Mac with fries flown in then have Walgreens get on the stick with my prescriptions & hey might as well fly in a 6 pak or 2 for the game. LOL never ever going to happen just good marketing has us talking about it for Xmas online crunch. I'm not buying it for 1 second but get it for promotion.

It's hard enough just to return something with a receipt. Now you're going to argue with a Drone? Ya, that'll work. Just remember, "press 1 for English".

If drones drop the orders out of the sky onto your lawn, the packages will still be in better shape than if it was delivered by fed ex...

60 minutes carried the story Sunday night. It actually made sense I thought. Can deliver up to 5 lbs. They have to wait til at least 2015 to get it through the FAA restrictions. I don't know guys, I'd say it's possible and probable. I wouldn't want it used on anything I order, but I think it's do-able. Drones, GPS, satellite, etc....I imagine there's more to it than we all know.

I'm not saying they won't get shot outta the sky and the pkg stolen either. It would be kinda like a box 'o chocolates, "ya never know what yer gonna git" when ya blow one outta the sky. LOL.....

and u think drones are not already flying around your town every town looking in to what u are doing?
news flash already going on just part of the patriot act.
my brother in law was flying them for yrs in the desert got a contract state side 3 yrs ago flying over a town near you.and making huge money doing it to boot.
and I can tell u if the privet sector has 1/4 the capability of the military drones none of your concerns are worthy. heck your new cars can hit the breaks if u get to close to something.
it will happen in time if the fed gets out of the way.
I would bet the farm blowing one from the sky will be a felony and U will be on digital back up doing it with 6 or 7 more tracking U back home or to where u go from there.
drones already have self tracking technology. add that to a data base of 1000s U are busted before U reload
