ok I have a 05 M6 EFI that I bought this summer the guy that I got it from said he has been running Amsoil in it but didn't tell me which kind. The oil in the sled looks red so I think it is dominator and it is about 3/4 full my ? is that I have a bunch of intercepter and was woundering if I can top off with intercepter or should I run the oil that is in there out and then fill with intercepter?

Yep, absolutely no problem mixing the two. It would readily mix with any other oil too for that matter.

Thanks guys I just got back from riding 5mi west of gaylord and 1st time out on the M6 2 1/2 ft of powder and I mixed the two and had no issue thanks

Doesn't matter what you mix with it, as long as it's the same "type" of oil.
Dominator and Interceptor are similar oils. IMO, I'd run the Interceptor, because it is a 10W-30 grade oil and will continue to flow well at really low temps, where the Dominator is a 20W50 oil and is a "heavier" viscosity. Dominator was really developed more for actual Racing applications, not for just aggressive riding. The prices of each oil are typically within pennies of each other.

Remember, just because you might like to ride like a nut, doesn't mean you are racing - LOL!

Regardless, synthetic base-stock oil is synthetic base-stock oil, no matter whose "Brand Name" is on the bottle. You can put in any synthetic oil with these oils and have zero worries.

I just wouln't recommend dumping in semi-synthetic base-stock or standard base-stock oil with the fully-synthetic stuff that's in there now, unless you run it really low, or preferrably drain the oil tank out first.

Here's are a couple of QUOTES, taken directly from Amsoil's site:

Dominator:

"DOMINATOR is recommended for use in high performance stock or modified two-cycle motors, including air or liquid cooled snowmobiles, personal watercraft, motorcycles (Moto X), ATVs, go-carts and outboard motors*. Good for use with coated or non-coated pistons, high-octane racing fuels and exhaust power valves. Compatible with most other two-cycle oils, however, mixing oils should be minimized."

Interceptor:

"It is recommended wherever JASO FC or API TC two-cycle oils are specified. INTERCEPTOR is a premium quality replacement for recreational equipment manufacturers' branded two-cycle oils. It is compatible with most mineral and synthetic two-cycle oils, however, for best performance, mixing oils should be minimized."

More power to you boys that run Amsoil. That stuff is way too expensive for me to justify running it in my sleds.

In all of my (PowerValve, RAVE, VES, etc.) sled motors, I run either the OEM oils and more recently Citgo's "Sea & Snow" with great results. It works awesome, and costs much less than most of the "big name" synthetics out there.

Happy Trails!

STD, you really don't like AmsOil do you......

I was merely letting sledheadsxr600 know that he CAN mix the 2 oils that he was talking about. And I backed it up with proven facts. I also made mention about my opinion. That's all, nothing more.

As for me not "liking" Amsoil, I never said that. I stand by what I said previously.

I would probably run Amsoil if it were in the $3.00 - $4.00 per quart range. (Which is plenty expensive enough - mind you.)

As long as Amsoil's up around $10 per quart (more than double what I can buy comparable oils for), I'll never run it. That's all I'm sayin'.

Quit tryin' to instigate trouble xcr440. :)

Stick with the Interceptor oil and you will be fine.
