always wanted one

Hey Ezra, my parents have one that is restorable, they might be interested in selling it. My dad bought it new in 1966 I think, it was the first car that I ever drove. When he first bought it my parents and another couple went to the Elks club in Grand Forks, there was a boat landing below it on the Red River, and when they left he turned and drove into the river, my Mom and the other lady did not know it went in the water.

I talked to a guy who owned one of these Amphicars at a car show recently. Said he has a standing offer to race against any other car for pink slips. Only one condition, he gets to pick the route, which inevitably includes a water crossing. No takers so far.
