anti-freeze

$65 a quart doesn't sound right at all. But yes, regular automotive antifreeze works good. Use a 50/50 mix.

Make sure it is "silicate-free".

Yamaha shops have Yamacool, pre-mixed, just pour it in, $9 a quart I believe, works fine in my Yamaha cycle and Polaris sled.

You should NOT mix coolants.

You should use distilled water only with the antifreeze.

Some companies say they have stuff that will mix with anything...but I would not want to take the chance because if it doesn't mix, it can congeal and you will have a sweet time getting that mess out and overheat for sure.

Stick with one kind....any kind will work...nearly all antifreezes today will work with aluminum heat exchangers aka, silica free coolants.
