And I just bought it. Cheap. Because it is stayin in the family. It was my Great Grandmothers. Bought new right here in town. Its kinda fugly in my mind but growing on me. Wife is in love with it. It goes down the road like a brand new car. Got some oil leaks that I can fix. Buick 350 V8 powered. Other than that she is just like it was in 1968. How many 50 year old cars do ya see with 22,000 original miles? How about that "groovy" avocado colored interior... Here I thought I built a big enough garage.... GOOD for you slimcake!!!!!!!! Family still means something to some of us!!!!!!!!!!! And I like it, the car too that is. Road cruiser for sure!!!! I notice the vehicle service record tab on the dash, remember them very well. Most all service stations used those in the late 60's, early 70's in my neck of the woods. I may have a few new tabs left if you need.

Sweet. That's awesome. Good for you. When my Mom passed, she had a 2007 Montego with 40M. We got it and the wife loves it. Sporty looking too as it has an after market cloth top on it that looks like it is a convertible.

My uncle just stopped by and dropped off the title with the orginal bill of sale and the warranty book. Warranty book has a steel card on the back page with my Great Grandpa's (who I never knew) name on it. The signature on the bottom is the guy that owned the dealership who was my best friends Grandpa. Pretty cool stuff!! IMG_20180922_092329094.jpg

Worked as a lot boy at WI largest Buick dealer from 14-18 or so. Drove every Buick ever made including GSX's and GNX's. Dad was finance manager there.
Had all Buicks until I bought a 1978 Camaro Z28, then had a Somerset after that. Cool times.

Really neat stuff slimcake. I'll take a dozen of them outright for $4,056.77!!! Do you know what the trade in was for $656.77? I say again, it's a real family "Road Cruiser" for sure!!! Oh, and just think of all the car shows around today? I'm think'n there's a few "most original" blue ribbons out there for you slimcake.

My younger brother just picked up a 4 door '68 Buick earlier this summer and has been restoring it. I can't seem to get pictures to upload otherwise I would show you. Looks identical, except longer and baby blue color. Has been a fun project!! Has a little more miles than yours, but still in pretty good condition. Had to do a little body work on a couple of corners and under the wind shield, but mostly clean. 350 is no monster especially in the heavy boat, but at least it sounds good when you start it up with glasspacks. I'm pissed because we get the project car once I moved further north, but I will take moving to a better state over that.

Is the under body clean as top? I have seen cars like this before where parked wrong and under body a rusted mess in the salt belt

Nice looking old car for sure. I would bet the under belly looks good by looking at the pics of the rocker panel with the door open.

Cool how cheap the options were back then on the bill of sale but makes me curious what was traded in for it that fetched $656.77. Prolly another peach!

Slimcake; make sure you use lead additive and premium fuel, high compression and non hardened valve seats , also oil with Zinc . Flat tappets need zinc to keep from wearing away. These "Old Soldiers" don't like our environment.

1973 Buick Regal - yellow, with brown padded half-top, and chrome rims was $4100 brand new....tax included. SMDH - unreal. 1978 Z28 350 was $6200.

Trade in was a 1957 Buick "Special" 4 door that was green and white the way it sounds. Pretty cool looking car as well. JMVETTE thanks for the reminder on that stuff. I always run premium NON ETHANOL fuel in everything except the daily drivers. Lucky to have a KT in town that sells it so it is convenient. The lead additive and oil w/zinc I didn't think of. Thanks. I will post some better pictures when I get it home from my detail guy. He is a magic man!!

Pennzoil is THE BEST oil hands down...Saudi's buy the stuff for their vehicles as pennsylvania crude has the least impurities and is clear/yellowish....and gas....gotta be premium....chevron with technoline additive is THE BEST if you can find it....the additive is called TECHRON and is at all auto parts stores....I run it in everything and its a top teir additive and aboot the only one that really works...they add it to ALL AIRPLANE fuel...lead additive I don't think you need IMO....but make sure its good gas as all the 4 major manus bought all the little guys...example....speedway was bought out by marathon....and so to keep the speedway customers (idiots) happy with .05 cents less gas per gallon....they sell marathon gas without STP additive...and the STP bottle costs 7 dollars....but you saved 1 dollar on gas per 20 gallons at .05....but you actually screwed yourselves 6 dollars on that tank full...plus you got marathon gas without the additives....DOH....that's gonna leave a mark....shell bought all caseys I think and so on....I would have to look on Wikipedia to see who bought who now as its a HUGE deception they are currently playing with gas and additives and the octane and ripping people off....just an FYI


PS....plus the gas without additives gets you less miles per gallon....another rip off added on to the others

Tracker ; I like Penzoil but todays oils have no zinc. Bad for the world. With the reputation of GM's flat cams I would make sure I did everything to protect that beauty . I used Joe Gibbs Driven oil in my Vette. Lead lubricated the valves and seats . A bottle in the tank is not gonna hurt.
