Anyone ever buff their headlights?

I bought a rain x kit to buff the headlights in our 2004 Camry. It has 156,000 on it and the headlights are extremely dim. I just got done using the kit. Quite the workout but the lights do look better.

Anyone else do this? Any tips for upkeep?

dont think the wife's winter mountaineer would have gotten done if that was the case.
only did it cuz buffer was in my hand and they were right there.
I knew it would work I had seen my bud do it in his body shop many times like that

I've done it a couple times using a cordless drill. The more time you spend sanding with the course to remove all the oxidation the better the end result. You can pretty much bring them back to new. I use auto wax to protect them once restored.

I used toothpaste on mine and it helped but still needs a little more work.
I think your supposed to use like 1000 grit sand paper, and wet sand it first.
