Anyone have any feedback on the Cub Cadet i1050 rider

Looking for anyone with feedback or input on the Cub Cadet i1050 riding mower. It's got the 50" deck with 25 hp engine. Brand New for $2799. Not looking for opinions of anyone without experience on these machines, so if you haven't owned (or known someone who has) please refrain from telling me all the reasons not to go with it. We're going to be closing on a house that has 2 acres of land. Only about 1.5 will get mowed. The terrain has inclines, but are very gradual. This machine has the options for snow blower, blade, etc, so has the adapters I may want for future use. Just looking for input on the integrity, durability, and quality of the machine. I've poked around on line, and found users that love them, and hate them, so not sure what to think. I'm working within a budget, and $2500 is my target, but if this is the right machine, I can see flipping the extra few hundred because it's new. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Don't have one so I'm not going to give you any feedback on it. What I will suggest is if you can find one in your price range, buy a deere. When we bought our last house about 12 years ago we had 3-4 acres of lawn plus about a 300-400' driveway. Bought an John deere LX188 (18 horse Kawasaki Liquid cooled Twin) with a 48" deck and a 42" snowblower and have been extremely happy ever since. No issues with it and I have mowed a ton of lawn and blown a lot of snow. I think the tractor and mower ran about $2700 at the time and the blower was $1500 or so. Don't get hung up on the 25 horsepower as a selling point, you'll never use all of it.

I started looking at those when they first came out, I was told that the blower wouldn't fit on it. If you haven't already, go to an actual cub dealer not a big box and talk to someone there about it. They will help you out and maybe let you test ride one. I ended up buying a new few year old commercial z-force 60" with a Kow 23 hp and I am very happy with it. My cutting time dropped by 2 hours. The Tank 72" look's like it could be fun. Good luck.

You might want to look at a 2000 series and up with the larger rear wheels and shaft driven hydro unit so the hydro fluid and filter can be changed.

I have a 1996 2185 18 hp with a 50" deck and a 42" snow blower that is a work horse.

The models below the 2000 series are what I call "throw away models" meaning it costs more to fix them then they are worth. This being because you can't service the hydro unit fluid.

With you wanting to use this tractor both summer and winter it will get quite a workout. A little more money now will save you a lot of money later.

Just be careful if you buy from big box stores, where are you going to get it serviced if ever needs to be done? Have you looked at any couple year old John Deere mowers?

I have an i1042 mower. I like it a lot. zero turn is really sweet to have, wish I had a bigger deck on it. I do have a feeling that it is more of a box store quality mower and less of a quality unit like cub cadets should be known for. (cub cadet is owned by MTD) I think the standard cubs may be a better option for quality, service etc. They have a 12" turning radius. I bought mine slightly used (12hrs) on craigslist, later I went to Tractor Supply to get blades for it. Sales guy there said he'd highly recommend the extended warranty on the i series mowers.
