looking to see if anyone knows if one can access Bullet Lake? Not sure if this is a private lake or if anyone knows who may own surrounding property and if able to obtain access?

I'm from Sheboygan,,never heard of it.
We have a seasonal trailer at a camp resort in Plymouth, been there for 7 years and just learned of Gerber lakes and when looking at map Bullet Lake isn't far from it. Its not a very big lake but 70 feet deep, and on the DNR site it says nothing about being private but does say no boat ramp, and it also goes on to say what anglers can expect to catch in it. So was hoping someone knew more information about it, or maybe knew tha landowner around it and possibly gain access to it or if even able to via launching a canoe. You won't know if you don't ask.

It is a little jelly bean-shaped lake to the east of Little Elkhart Lake? If so, it looks like its a privately-owned lake, in a land-locked parcel of land. Owned by whomever lives just immediately north in the next parcel up. They also own several more parcels surrounding. Maybe the state has negotiated with the property owner for public access for hunting and fishing (they do that sort of thing in my state, and I'd assume many others), but you'd know better where to look for that as a local.

Looks like the two small lakes just to the west about a quarter of a mile (Gerber?) are owned by the county, and there's public access/parking and a dirt boat ramp.

Most counties in the US have a GIS system where you can look up parcels and ownership and such, FYI.

Thank you, I will maybe call local dnr office and go from there, was hoping someone knew. We just found out about gerber lakes and enjoy being out on them, small, no houses, no motors and good fishing, was hoping someone had the same to say about bullet as well

There is a private lake near my old stomping grounds in Phelps owned by a farmer. The farm was abandoned years ago but anyone trespassing on that lake was arrested. Yes the DNR owns the water but access was privately owned. You are doing the right thing by seeking permission to access.

They are public resources, owned by all of us. The Public Trust Doctrine is affirmed by the state Supreme Court. It gives us the right to swim, boat, fish, hunt, skate and generally enjoy these waters and their scenery. Over many years, the doctrine has been upheld, defined and expanded by court cases and state laws.

Looks like it is a private property owned by a Christopher Salm who is the CEO of a place called Ab E Discovery. Looks like a very nice getaway property.
