Anyone with feedback on Terra Grappler truck tires in ice and snow

I"m in the market for a new set of tires, and have decided to look for something else other than the Bridgestone Duelers I currently have (for personal preference and reason.) Can anyone provide feedback on the performance of these in ice and snow. The guy I'm working with states they will perform and handle similar to my AT Duelers, but will have a step up on traction performance in ice and snow. Here's the model I'm looking at:

I almost got these in the past and read a lot of complaints about how quickly they wear. I ended up with Firestone Destinations that time.

I want to replace the current tires on my truck and Discount Tire tried to push Cooper LTZs on me. They are specially made for Discount Tire and I couldn't find one bad complaint about them and am strongly considering them.

Cuzz - I've heard the same issue about the Grapplers, but only on the bigger 3/4 and 1 tons etc due to weight, tourque etc. THey don't seem to wear well on the bigger trucks, but everything I'm seeing point to them working fine on our trucks like the 1500's. That's what I was hoping to get some feedback.

I am about to get my second set of bridgestone revos expensive but are awesome on snow and ice. They are on a 2003 f-150 and have 35k and still have over 6/32 left on the tread.

I have a 05 excursion . The price of tires is a joke. I put on a set of retread bfg all terrain . They are half the price of non retread . I drive to the up in the worst conditions there very good. This is my second winter i like them . My truck doesnt have posi on a posi truck there great. My 95 f150 had bfg all terrain and posi that truck was awesome in snow better than my excusion. The tire are from tread wright they are in the dakotas or wyoming i dont remember. If you have one vehicle buy the best if you have multiple vehicles seems like we watch our pennies closer.

Agree on the Revo's. Spent the cash and put them on my Yukon when I had it, but the cost for those on my Avy is a bit more than I want to spend, when I consider how much longer I'm planning to keep it.

I know you didnt ask about these but, Hankook DynaPro ATM tires are IMO one of the best tires on the market for trucks right now. Excellent traction in all conditions, AND long lasting. They also have some of the highest load rating caps if thats what you need. I have them on all my trucks and I completely love them. Price isnt all that bad either. Check em out.

What type of trucks are you referring to SRT? What are you pulling with them, and in what conditions? I'm willing to have a look, so long as they perform well in all conditions, especially ice and snow.

I was in the tire shop the other day looking at options. The guy told me the Hankook's are the the most popular option for plow truck drivers. He said they can't keep enough of them in stock during the fall and winter. They rated pretty well on consumer reports as did the Kuhmo Road Venture KL61's and KL78's but they were a little more pricey. The KL61 were the highest rated in all categories but I'm leaning toward the Hankook's based on the demand from those who need good tires in snow.

I'm on my third set of Nitto TGs on my 06 Duramax. 60k on each set and now at 136k on the odometer. Great tire all around and reasonably priced. Looks good too. The trick for a longer tread life is not to over inflate. I run 55psi all around. If you run max psi of 80 you will burn them quick as they are a softer tread tire. 1 set of 265/75/16E and 2 sets of 285/75/16E. Also ran a set on my 01 chevy 1500 before I traded it.

I have the Hankooks on my 2500 dodge diesel 4x4. I haul anything from a 2 place enclosed to a 4 place in winter. I have LT265/70/17. 3750lbs load cap. per tire. I hate to admit it, but I am one of those guys that drives way to fast hauling the sleds in winter. I usually get flipped off a time or 2 a trip. I haul em up north as much as snow permits. Any where from N WI to the UP. I will drive in a blizzard to get to where I am going. Also these tires are the quietest AT tire on the hwy I have ever heard. I truely love these tires.

I also have the same tires on my wifes truck. 1500 dodge 4x4. I put them on hers because I felt they were the best tire for the money. And she works 12 hr shifts 45 mins from home. I need to have her with good tires. She works in a job that you cannot call in a snow day. Her tires are P265/70/17. I dont remember the load cap, but we dont haul much ever with her truck. Maybe the 2 place once in awhile.

A buddy also has these tires on his f-150. He loves them as well.

Like I said, I think they are the best tire for the money, and one of the best tires on the market period. Plus they look pretty tough for a AT tire too. I cant stand BFG all-terrains. I think they are the most over-hyped tire out there. Lotta mud guys like Nitto and Toyo tires(same company). But Nitto is not know from longevity.

I am somewhat a tire guy. My brother chalks his tires to monitor wear and he mustered 70k out of his first set. I use four wheel drive alot with my truck so I wear out tires a little faster than most. The revos have to be rotated at least every 6k or they can get a little noisey like all agressive tires. I am at the seven year mark with them and my truck only has 34,000 miles on it. Due to the seven years the rubber will start to get hard and compromise ice travel. Last year driving to the cabin was the worst in 15 years, snow and ice almost every weekend. X'2 on the AVY there are other choices. Destinations have a fairly good rep and a tire that I think is underated are the General grabbers. The Grabbers will wear out faster than the Revos but provide possibly even better traction in the snow and ice when new. Most people would keep running their tires at 6/32 but stopping distance and traction are for sure compromised.

I have them on my 2500 HD and i will say they are really good in the snow. The only complaint I had with them was they were noisy when new, but went away with a few thousand on them.

Which ones?

I've heard the Revo 2's are loud but not sure of the others we've talked about.

General Grabber AT2's.

Look up your tire size on tire rack and read thru all the reviews about each tire. Had the Grabber's on my last truck, a 06 Durango AWD hemi. Put almost 40,000 miles on them and looked new (rotated every other oil change, 60% highway miles). They started with 17/32 in tread and had 12/32 tread when I traded the truck.

How good were they? Wife called me on her cellthe first time driving in a snowstorm laughing saying she just passed the county plow truck.
