Apex XTX

Does 2011 Apex & newer have a rear suspension rebound clicker like earlier Apex LTX mono. I know Apex XTX is typical 2 shock suspension but slow down rear shock rebound if has clicker & kick should be greatly reduced. Is rebound clicker not there on Apex XTX????? Suspension center shock shock is mostly about preloading of front shocks soften more pressure on skis harden less pressure on skis. The cam block helps soften or stiffen rear shock then fine tune with compression clicker. What am I missing here before I buy an XTX??

just_ride,

I've sold dozens of these and I have no complaints and I see a lot of them. You will not be disappointed with the Apex XTX. If it's too stiff for you there are adjustments to soften them up. You can change spring rates if you can't soften it up enough, there's nothing wrong with the 144 Skid. If the XTX has one downfall it's premature slide wear. Put the Duponts on as they are money well spent. We stock them there. I have yet to change a set of those and I have two customers over 6000 miles on them. This is a sled you can ride everyday with very little maintenance and it just keeps getting stronger and stronger the more you ride it!! I have two customers with 10,000 miles each and I rode both of them and they are beasts! They will outperform any low mile XTX I've ever been on. It's nice to ride and see a motor getting stronger instead of weaker. You won't be disappointed, period!!!!!!!
Kip,
thanks
I was looking for feedback where someone had put 10K miles on one. Sound like I can dial in the rear suspension to my riding preference.
Also might have to keep my 2010 Apex LTX with 10K, and put another 10K on it!!!
Thanks again

Not positive but think there only compression clicker not rebound.

I know we all can't wait to get on the snow...but stop worrying about all that and just get on and ride. Like I told you, I didn't have to adjust ANYTHING on my apex XTX's. I just turned the key and hit it. That's the first time I haven't had to do anything to the setup. Maybe others have, but not me. seems like some here are confusing the Nytro with the Apex just because they have the same skid. There had to be differences in the two setups. I'm not sure how the two models can be compared. You aren't going to regret your purchase and I'm sure you will have a great season on your new sled, especially when you're eating my "whitedust". :)

Not confused at all. And can tell from few the comments from people with Apexe xtx's Yamaha has probably not changed they're shock valving.

Not huge deal. If you don't like it just send it to Hygear for revalve.

I have an 11 Apex xtx. Bought new last year as left over. I've rode arctic cat turbos, and the apex is just as fast and handles better in my opinion. Also the windshield and dynamics alone keep you much warmer. EPS is awesome, I wouldn't trade it for the world. Even can jump off trail if you keep your thumb in it with the longer track 144!

I'm not worried more curious than anything at this point. I have always been able to get any sled I have had dialed in better than others. Just like when I attended Yamaha factory ride & Apex were darting all over the place in loose snow to me was no brainer to fix that with Bergstom & nobody stays with OEM carbides. I'll get XTX figured out got my Attak GT smooth as butter once I understood the mono & I'm thinking faster learning curve with XTX since traditional 2 shock skid. I already have new Bergstroms with shim & ski savers ready to install. Apex XTX, EPS,EXUP,144 & engine braking reduction well worth the upgrade. As far as your Apex XTX whitedust that remains to be seen maybe not the black one but I'll be faster than the red XTX cause we all know the black ones are faster. LOL :)

Very true! I will need to ride my black one when we ride together! HaHaHaha

White Dust, Are the Bergstrom's better then the duallys?
As I stated , I use the Dullys and maybe I should change to the Bregs.
What size carbide for my Apex LTX.
I d have a appointment with the dealer to set up the suspension as you stated.

Pizza Man,

I know you addressed this question to Whitedust, but I wanted to chime in a little. Whitedust and I tend to like the same type of equipment and have a very similar riding style as I have ridden with him in the past. I have had dully's in the past as well as bergstroms. I do like berstrom triple points. I have had them on three sleds and do like the results. the only problem I have had in the last few years was getting through to the guy to order them. I know whitedust has had better success than me. My favorite carbides are snowtrackers. I tried the semi-aggressive versions, but I prefer the aggressive snow trackers the best. These were the best solution to "pushing" in the corners and completely eliminated darting.

Tuner skis are awesome! They take all the steering effort away and they are inexpensive.

Afattack, where do you buy yours, what size, part # for my 136 inch track.

I have a set of the new tuner skis ordered to try them. I want to compare non-tuner skis with snowtrackers to the tuner skis to see which is better. With that said, here is where I get snowtrackers from.

https://www.royaldistributing.com

It looks like their website isn't working too good right now. You can see the main page but when you try to browse to the snowtracker page it doesn't do anything. You need to call and order them by the phone anyway. I would recommend the 8" aggressive. It's a good balance for the large 144" track.

DF, I have a pair of tuner skies you can have for $60 and you pay shipping.
About 600 miles on them.
I didn't like them and went back to my old ones.

Sorry they didn't work out Pizza Man. That's the first complaint I've ever heard on Tuner Skis and I sold a ton of them.

Same here I sold mine last month at a swap meet. You should get your price easily.
The carbides wore off mine in one 3 day weekend in good conditions. The second set were made by woodys and were better.
I have liked the shaper and shaper slim duallys as well on a set of C 'n A trail skis....I went back to them after trying the tuna skis on my 2010 Nytron SE.

Tuners are very good skis the Yamaha carbides not so good "sorry Kip". 1 Bergstrom triple point & shims for runner 1 & simple Yamaha wear bar for runner 2 of tuner ski. The Bergstom triple point does all the work & who cares about wear bars very cheap change them when you have too. It is not the ski but the carbide you use for that ski. Scott Bergstom answers phone all the time I talked to him 2x last week just knows me as pete from Phelps. Great guy! Great product!:)
