Yesterday I had the opprotunity to try out a couple of sleds at Thomas Sno-Sports in Oglivie(top notch place). The first sled I tested was a 2009 CF800, loved it(first time riding a CF). Nice riding position, comfortable, lots of power, smooth on the hard/rough trail. The second sled was a CFR800 with the new HO motor. Holy frickin eh! Unbelievable power. It was almost scary quick/fast. I was not as happy with the ride, a little harsh for me. Plus I want a cross over sled, not a lake rocket.

I have a couple questions on theses motors...what kind of longevity are people getting out of these motors without major issues? How about fuel economy? Oil usuage?

If I am going to plop down over 8 grand on a sled I hope it will last awhile before any issues happen. I realize every manufacturer has their problems here and there but if there is a huge problem it would be nice to know before the trigger is pulled.

I have now gotten to ride all of the cross over sleds from all a manufacturers and the CR8 is close to the top. If I wanted a sled to have fun with on and off trail it would be the CF8. If I wanted a long lasting cross over sled it would be the Nytro XTX(I laughed the entire time I rode it) but a lot of money up front. Can't buy one right now anyways but getting an idea before I do.

I have over 3600 on my 07 crossfire 8 sno pro. It has been a great sled. Motor is as strong as the day I bought it, and by the way I got the sled from Thomas... Great dealer.
