OK I am looking to get a spare key to a older arctic cat sled(1997)
how do I find out what code key I have, so I can order a new one, or anyone know where I can get black keys and have them cut/copied from the one I have

thanks!

Thanks, I know all me and my friends sleds in the mid to late 90's all our keys fit each others sleds too llol.,
but I did a search on EBay, and they show 4. Or 5. Different types of key bllanks, and or just replacement keys, and there is a number for each type, I THINK there is a key code under the rubber coating on the key, I just hate to tear it off if I don't have to to find what that number is?
me and all my friends had the higher end cat models in the 90's, so wasn't sure if the lower end models maybe had different keys, to justify why, the different coded options,
sadly, my local cat dealer is from 2000 plus, and doesn't even sell sleds, so he wouldn't have any extra keys around.
Nearest next cat dealer is about 60 miles away that MIGHT, so trying to not have to tow sled there to see if he has any that would fit?
all my yrs, have never lost a key before so Haha, finding out now how to get extra

my key has a letter A on a lower corner of the rubber coating, but NO number, I am told the number would be under the rubber coating on key, but don't really want to ruin that to find the number

I found this on Ebay , with keys for sale
its list of keys for Arctic cat sleds

Here are the part numbers and keys I have available;

0609-412 "A"

0609-453 "A1"

0609-459 "A2"

0609-454 "B1"

0609-460 "B2"

0609-455 "C1"

0609-461 "C2"

0609-456 "D1"

0609-462 "D2"

0609-457 "E1"

0609-463 "E2"

0609-458 "F1"

0609-464 "F2"

THEN It had me guessing if I have an A, or A1 or A2 ??
went onto SHadetree.com, and they sell new keys for my sled for $1.95 each??
http://shopping.shadetreepowersport...-starter-kimpex-ignition-switche-key-80as0000

so I ordered 2 of them, figure cheap enough to roll the dice they will fit, as there an aftermarkey key??

I did hear from Ken's today,(before I found them on shadetree) and they have some there for sure , but want 12.95 each for them, plus shipping to me
so, going to see if the shadetree one's work first, as want to order a few other things(hyfax's and such for spring time Pm's on this new to me sled)

but for now looks like I found some keys Lol

Same as the others, all my old keys worked in all my older Cats. If you do find yourself without a key, all you have to do is unplug one wire from your keyswitch anyway for the sled to run. Real high security!
