If sledding becomes a high cost niche market it is over.
Too many takers and too few givers will leave the trails open for the quiet riders who will then strike a after death kik to the chops by getting tax payer supplied funding to make their trails wonderful at the expense of every taxpayer

Privet land, public land.....it won't matter Ezra if people like you and me say they've had enough.

the reality is the sport is already on life support. just a matter of time till nothing but a few antiques used on privet land. the millennial kids don't even want to get a drivers license or a home let alone a north woods cabin or a truck trailer and 30k worth of junk to haul around and store. they feel they can get the whole snowmobile experience in a 15 second clip on there phone on there walk from the rented loft to get a 13 buck cup of crappy tasting coffee . come on a snowmobile do u have any idea how far out from there "safe zone" that would take them

I think one of the best parts of riding in Ontario is that no one's phones work. So much better than taking a stop and realizing half your group is replying to some message...

No good stories start with - So I was snap chatting my friend and then...

It is not the guys on a sled site in Aug that will be the ones dropping out from cost . but I can tell u a lot of the young guys who work for me or there buds have 0 desire to drop $$ on sleds .the very few who do buy beaters to ride around the house and to take out the ice shack .

I do agree not a lot of Indy 500s out there coming thru the snomo door but that is their choice to not pursue sleddin.... they do buy lots of pick up trucks not sure why they don't get into snowmobiling?

Yep my kids spend big bucks in the sun in winter. Eating out & drinking a priority too..they talk about renting sleds but never gets done maybe easier for them to ski for a day than rent sleds. I just say ok let me know I'll make time guide you on trails but never happens and I'm happy spending time gravity sledding with gkids. Come to think of it they did ride on borrowed iron once last winter went 18 miles RT stopped at 2 bars and trails were trash that day.....I watched football their mother inlaw guided them from RT Phelps to Smokey Lake.lol
