Every 800 I ever had the drive shaft bearings went out by 3000 miles
2007 crossfire8=2800 bearings went out
2010 CFR8= 3200 bearings went out
I have another 2010 CFR8 and that has 2900 miles and the bearings are out what a shock.
I have change oil and done all maintenance. Does anyone else have this problem. I think this will be my last Cat.

Although this has never happened to me...knock on wood, I believe it is common. At least from all of the discussions on other web sites. They have the topic pinned. I think people are replacing with a bearing from http://www.bd-xtreme.com/ I was going to pull my DD at the end of the season just to have a look see at mine.
I wish Cat would use a better quality bearing from the start also.

You should get almost double that at least out of bearings.

I've had several cats over the years and they all had Drive shaft bearing problems. They would always failed on the clutch side after 2-3000 miles. I found that if you regularly grease this bearing, you can get more than double the lifetime from them. I grease my bearing after every weekend of riding. It only takes a few seconds and it can save a lot of headache!

I have never had any issues with my bearings on the 3 cats I've owned, I currently have two polaris's and the manual says to grease them every 500 miles. Its so easy to, do I don't understand why someone wouldn't I know by brother in law lost his bearing on his ski doo 800, maybe its an 800 motor issue, who knows.

Gentlemen, the issue is chinese bearings. Replace with quality produced bearings like NTN or the ones from BD-extreme like previously mentioned.
Screw that chinese communist crap.

I thought the bearings on Diamond drive where enclosed bearings how are you guys greasing them. Thanks for the ideas on where to get better bearings.

the bearing in the DD are NTN just undersized NTN.NTN is not what they once were IMHO.I now inject grease in to all my sealed bearings during fall tune up time
