Are all the new Cats out?

Is Cat releasing the new 2020 sleds over a few weeks, or is the entire new line-up out? I don't see the Pantera and the Nytro motor is dropped. Which is probably from the expiration of the agreement w/Yamaha. Also, it appears they got rid of the shorties. Except for the 120, 200 and Lynx, it appears everything else is 137 or longer.

If what they're showing is the whole lineup it's a real change and brings up Scarry thoughts like in Indy 500's thread. I hope it's not the end.

Past this, there is only the ZR 120, ZR 200, a single Bearcat XT and a Lynx 2000 in two track lengths. That’s it. Taking a page from Yamaha’s move last year, Arctic Cat has enough of the “other” models in their dealer network so it was time to perform some “inventory correction”. There are no Panteras, no Crosstours, no XFs. There are no M 6000s, no turbo Ms, no 7000-Series models, no Norseman, and of course no 129” ZR sleds. The ONLY 4-strokes left are the two versions of the Thundercat, that’s it. Let that one sink in for a moment. This is serious model reduction, but really, it was getting out of hand.

It has been out of hand for years, Cat moron ownership let new dealers into territories where additional dealers were. not needed. This brought more sleds, bankrupt owners and 5 years of new sled inventory laying around nobody wants. It's funny that you can buy a new 2013-2019 sled I WI. Heck, you can buy a 700 LXR for under 6k.
Some say they hope Cat does not die as it will hurt the sport, I say let em die as it will keep the other 3 healthier; survival of the fittest.
Think of how much commerce has changed in 10 years, companies that dont change will die, Cat could be next and. nobody will care 2 days later.

This has me wondering what Yamaha will announce.

So are we saying that the Yamacats won't have the NA 1048 triple (viper) either? Not sure what the Cat Yamaha agreement was. Will Yamaha continue to build what they want to in TRF facility? Maybe the NA triple will only be offered in Blue?

Until Yamaha and Textron make statements it’s impossible to know anything about their current arrangements. Imo being in the OEM biz for 35 years it was highly unusual that the agreement was not renewed and made public BUT with new ownership comes new business philosophy. Since 3 cylinder Yamaha NA 4s is dropped from AC line up it sure looks like the OEM is over for that engine which was bread and butter for Yamaha. When OEM Agreements are unequal more than likely Yamaha will not order very many chassis either if any. What is very concerning we maybe having both AC and Yamaha winding down which reduces 4s model availablity for new sleds. Right now imo it’s very important to hear from both companies to clarify their directions. All eyes are focused on Yamaha and their 2020 release sure hope leaks begin!!

I highly doubt Cat is going to die. Especially since they re-branded the Textron Off-road back to Cat. Also, they didn't trim their line-up way back like Yamaha did, essentially two models. Also, why would you spend the money in a revised front end when you are dumping the product line? The Thundercat, ZR and Riots got the same, new front end. And you brought out a new model?

They have been backing off of the 4-strokes for the last few years. The 7000 and the 3000 where not their motors. Now they have a big HP gap to fill between the 60 HP segment and 125 HP segment and again between the 125 HP segment and 165 HP segment. The 4-strokes they dumped were so close the to 60 HP and 125 HP segment, it did not make sense to keep them. I feel Textron will come out with 4-stroke motors to fill the gaps. I also like how they trimmed the 204 HP in one sled, the problem I have is they should have called it the King Cat and not the Thundercat.

Yamaha did the same thing for 2019 (cut models and reduce inventory) For 2020 Yamaha is increasing the number of sleds being produced 2X.

Cat doing the same thing this year (cutting models and reducing inventory) as Yamaha last year. Cat isn’t going anywhere..

It looks like Ski-Doo didn't do much. Trimmed some models like the Blizzard, expanded the 4th Gen to a few new lines, and oh yes, the brand new digital display. (About time Ski-Doo! Not that the other three didn't already have it.)

What I find is funny, the 2020 Ski-Doos have been out for the last six days and there is not much talk about them from the Doo faithful, why is that? (Or am I missing the discussion somewhere else?)

It’s all speculation for sure. I talk to my AC buds and my Yamaha buds and it’s all shurgged shoulders same as me same with dealers. I’m sure Yamaha dealers are gagged currently will say more after 2020 release. Yamaha and AC may realize they saturated the market with dual branded sleds and will only offer 1 brand to fill a niche market segment who really knows. On the other hand if Yamaha 2020 line up is their own sleds and engines no further questions are necessary they have separated. If still together as in the past I would have thought Yamaha and AC marketing 2020 product release would have been coordinated which has me leaning towards separation.

I had the opportunity a while back to ride with a person who has someone very close on the inside at Textron. AC is not dumping the sled business. Regrouping, realigning products, and production yes. With what I have read, and what he told me, Textron has made a big bunch of moves, put a lot of effort, and $$$ into cost control mfg (modular) of their products. They purchased Weber so as to be able to supply their own power in different vehicles, and products they produce. With that, Textron's acquisition of AC also had a whole lot to do with Cat's ability to D/E/P their own engines/power. Not just 2-stroke, but 4- stroke also. This will allow them to be very efficient as to product design, engineering, and production mfg total $$$. It now appears the AC trade mark will be Textron's Rec vehicle brand. This in it's self should be reassuring to the Cat loyal customers. Yes, all of the "old loyal guard AC co." sled guy's are gone. However I am in hopes the AC brand will really surprise a whole lot of us in the next few years. Either that, or Textron has thrown a lot of $$$ away?

If you look at the lineup, what's really missing? They have loads of those 7000s at dealers already. For the 600 trail sled for example, there's no need for the base model. The sno pro was only about $500 more and the only difference is shocks.

Does anyone want a 600 mountain sled? That's not enough power at elevation. Seems like a good idea to simplify things.

Cuz it's not that exciting. And gauge looks terrible to me, at least pics I've seen. Colors look horrible again too.

I find it funny as last year when the Poolaris 850 Patriot was introed, I referred to it as the 'Riot on a couple websites because to me it sounded like it would literally be a "RIOT"....LOL

I do but will wait til the gremlins get worked out of it. As it is the Cat F-7 had a "Patriot" edition before Poolaris called the 850 the Patriot.
But I think they follow me for my marketing ideas....Snowlizzard....

Oh no, I'm not going there! There's talk of a strip joint on another thread already. Oh, yeah, and ya might want to be careful with that "profiling" stuff, eh? Ha,ha!
