FOX Chicago TV is saying 4-8" total but still 50 MPH winds so this is a lot less than they were originally predicting. We are traveling from MW to Naperville on Friday 23rd and coming back on the 26th. I'm not worried about driving, will take all the precautions but it's the other drivers that I worry about causing issues. Some people with 4WD are the worst, they drive crazy and then you see them in the ditch or causing accidents that slow traffic. If you have to travel please be safe and Merry Christmas to all.

I’m waiting for JD to update. His forecast is the weather bible for me.
Well, get ready, there is a fresh forecast text & graphics & the Rev sez........ we're in for a lot of snow. Quite possible that may be measured in feet not inches! The Pink crayon has been released. I don't know if I am ready for that, but, it looks like we will be busy moving it for the next 4 days or so.

My hopes are fading for significant snow in SE WI with each update it’s starting to look like a cold wave with wind and flurries. Lol. However WI loss is northern IL gain which does nothing for our trails. Starting to look like a waste for us go back to waiting and hoping for a SE WI storm. Your trip wil probably be easy peasy until you get to IL. Good luck and Merry Xmas.

Yes, it seems like the Massive Blizzard that was hyped might not be as bad as predicted. I think we'll be fine, it's getting to the point where the trails should be opened soon up here. Merry Christmas to you and your family as well WD.

It appears that the massive blizzard has been downgraded although there are winter storm watches out for most of the midwest. Here in Vilas we may get 3-7" which we welcome but the main story will be cold and wind. It is -16 degrees as I write this morning in MW, today is the day the Clubs and Vilas County meet on the trail opening date, I would be surprised if it wasn't opened by Thursday morning.

you're more than welcome to send some of that our way LOL!!! No wonder we aren't getting any, you guys are hoarding it all!!! LOL
I wish I could spread the wealth, we damn sure don't need to get pummeled like that, but, it appears to be inevitible. On top of the snowfall, we are going to have winds like no other with gusts over 50 mph. Can you say BLEEZARD??!!

oh the hype then....couple inches windy and cold. Sounds like normal winter weather to me. Of course I hope I'm wrong as want a ton of snow up north.

Yep seems like a huge Les event not much elsewhere otherwise. Oh well. National map shows snow east of all the Great Lakes. I feel fortunate we can access the UP for snow play otherwise it would be a long boring winter.

We have a Winter Storm Warning for today (12-22) & a Blizzard Warning for Fri 23rd & Sat 24th. We are going to have it rough here for a few days. Looks like well over 30" in the next 3 days.

Good for you....sounds like your UP LES....this was predicted to be a huge snow event everywhere south of you to Chicago and beyond.
all I want is for the hypsters to admit they blew it....again. Instead the whole focus this AM is to now hype what the wind chill will be.....pathetic.

I realize I am over reacting but this leads to all the rest of the hyped up BS we are indoctrinated with every minute of day.....from weather to politics and many times the 2 combined.

Lucy pulled the football back once again.....but the media hype machine got there viewers!!!!

We went from 10 - 15 " to 1 to 3....shameful!

AND the closings....LOL
Agree it was evident this storm wasn’t going to affect southern WI with much snow but the hype continues. The media succeeded in shutting down all the schools and some businesses today for nothing. A cold wave could come through with a burst of snow and wind which is very common. Big deal 🤨
