5-6” sense yesterday evening, (Watersmeet) and still light snow coming down and the real stuff isn’t supposed to start until tonight through Saturday. I just don’t want the big wind because that will put trees down everywhere and more cleanup.

Good for you....sounds like your UP LES....this was predicted to be a huge snow event everywhere south of you to Chicago and beyond.
all I want is for the hypsters to admit they blew it....again. Instead the whole focus this AM is to now hype what the wind chill will be.....pathetic.

I realize I am over reacting but this leads to all the rest of the hyped up BS we are indoctrinated with every minute of day.....from weather to politics and many times the 2 combined.
so true. I think the "models" or the algorithms that are used to run them are way off a week out. Seems like they are always more aggressive at first then end up being a normal winter snow event. It's winter for gosh sakes. come on. Dangerous wind chills, deadly this, once in a generation that.

Unbelievable.

Agree it was evident this storm wasn’t going to affect southern WI with much snow but the hype continues. The media succeeded in shutting down all the schools and some businesses today for nothing. A cold wave could come through with a burst of snow and wind which is very common. Big deal 🤨
They may have changed the forecasted snow hours before it was said to be a huge snow event in previous forecasts. That doesn't change all the prep ppl did based on their false predictions.

I believe it was Tuesday morning even the JD graphic was showing big snow Chicago and south

Just came in from clearing the driveway. Blew it all over onto the neighbor's driveway. Had no choice, winds are too strong. Time for a hot beverage preferably something with alcohol as I guess I won't be doing any driving today.

Anyone with a TV got ready for the storm of a generation. Lol. It got cold so a cold wave warning with snow some may be heavy so keep up with the forecast would have done well. Storm of a generation was s bad call just not that severe anywhere even in the Les Great Lakes areas especially Buffalo this is nothing new to them. 🤷‍♂️

Left Manitowish Waters at 9am this morning, 7 below and not a lot of wind, Roads really good until around Madison, couple accidents in Madison, otherwise no issues. Very windy from Wausau south, I wouls say 40-45mph cross winds. Usually takes us 6 hours to get to Naperville and we arrived right at 3pm. Not a lot of traffic otherwise I think it would have been longer, I think some people decided to stay home. Glad to be here safe and sound, Merry Christmas!

You should be here right now, it's FUGLY. Visibility 1/8 mi & less with snow out the wazoo. I can't recall a December snow event quite like this as it looks like late January out there right now. Up on the hills of Twin Lakes & Calumet & North look like late winter accumulations on the ground. We may have to do some roof cleaning before January especially considering we may end up with friggin rain next week. Sure hope that forecast potential falls on its face. 4 1/2 hr moving snow today, looks like a repeat performance tomorrow.

I love a great snowstorm to be honest with you. When the weather guys fail I get bummed out, but now that I live in MW at least we get a decent amount of snow and this month has been good. We got to Naperville and they probably got a whole 2" of snow, what joke on the people down here!

Yeah well snow sucks for business down here and the snow never lasts long enough to really enjoy it like we can up north. As far as I'm concerned I would want all of the Illinois snow to head up north where it will last and be enjoyed. Whatever we have down here will be gone by mid week next week and all it did was screw up travel and business down here for a couple days. I love a good storm too to be honest, it's this cold and wind that really messed me up this time.

Lol...I made more than million $$ in the commercial snow and ice control biz during the 20 seasons i plowed while living in Elmhurst...When I semi-retired here to So. Wi in 2009, I still plowed/salted using the same marketing I used in Illinois, and still made $200.00-250.00 per hr...
