I found 2, 99 zl 600 with 200 miles. They have been summarized and not rode for 6-7 years.Guy bought them new and hardly rode them.He said he started them a few weeks ago. They are stored inside.I have not seen them yet,{I assume they look like new} and do not know what he wants for them.
My opinion is they have sat too long, and are not worth much.
What would you look for?
What are they worth?
Thanks for your time.

first thing,if you buy them, put some 2 stroke oil in the gas tank with fresh premium. there has to be some rust on the internals. this should help. rust and pitting should be your biggest problems. check the fuel line too. you should go thru all the shocks too, before the first ride. they go bad just sitting there.
anybody else?

Get rid of the gas that is in the tank. Not sure what year they started using smart valves, but if they are in the tank with gummed up fuel? Well, you get the drift.

rakins covered most of the main things. Just check suspension and steering for anything that may have siezed during the lo o on n n g Summer.

They are low miles, but I still would not put a whole lot of value on them. Probably around 2K each, if things are all working.

If the sleds were stored the right way(inside, dry, sumerized)every thing would be just fine.First thing to do is drain the fuel system and add fresh gas to the tank(with no oil).Check the carb boots for cracks.Check for mouse nests in the air box.I would think that everthing else looks like and is in new condition. This sounds like a good find.I would think that anything around $1500 each is a smokin deal!

after sitting for 7 years,I would think there is rust, pitting and corrosion regardless of how it was summerized/stored. my .02

yeah I would be a bit leary of crank seals.I put a new old stock crate motor in a few years back. it was on a shelf at cat in the crate for around 5 yrs.put it in burnt down on the first long pull.long story short crank seal bad.not moving lack of lub and gravity take there toll.or you could pull the rope and never have to pop the hood for 7000 mi. your dice to roll.I would not go over 2k ea but I would start at 1500

That was a good motor and size sled. With some proper care when it was put away, I would not worry about rust, or pitting. Since it was liquid cooled, I would change out the coolant, and look at the neck of the coolant bottle because Cat had problems with them breaking and not holding pressure.

Siphon out the old fuel and oil and clean the carbs, put in new plugs grease them up and make sure the get more miles before running them hard.

After a few hundred more miles, and no issues I would run them across the Arctic.

Kelly Blue Book is $900-$1400 each. Plus side, low miles, down side is no maintenance or operation in 6-7 years. A risk needs to be offset by a price reduction, I would go $2000 for both.
