If you ride off trail alot you will do some digging and pulling, the yamaha 4 strokes are heavy but have the power to make up for it!been getting 3500-4000 per yr.some 300 mile days but most 150 or less! usually when you get stuck its not the machines fault!!

that's good stuff people!

All sleds are prone to drifting to low side of terrain especially when loose as the drag of the loose snow draws the sled into, just like cars. Sled weight, rider weight contributes to the amount of rider strength or effort to counter this draw. I would say, YES, yammi's will be harder to counter this. If I were buying a trail sled it would still be a heavy yammi. I didn't see weight as a factor when playing cat and mouse on the trails, heavy sled with big arse motor was a good mate

roc - no, not as of yet. I had the recall work done and I've run the sled several times up to temp to break it in, and it's run like a top. my neighbor had his assault re-done too, and his is working well. You know there was a recall right?

I know the dealers were supposed to just check the cylinders for scoring, and not just replace them if they didn't need it. Maybe your friend had a bad cylinder but they didn't catch it? Was it done twice last year? Before the rolled out the recall of the 800 motor top ends?

Can't wait to ride it. First time with an 800 for me. Been riding the 600HO for the last 4 years.

Hope it works out for him. Hard to say why he needed two rebuilds.

ubee - just giving you a hard time. Looks like you've had some good dig-outs though! I had my share as well, trying to go where I shouldn't with a short track and only 1 1/4 track. But not this year! Gonna get'er in the powder whenever I can!

If your not getting stuck your not off trail riding! Thats part of the fun! Hard to believe Tigers $164 fine for off roading will be less than mine with new 264 bill!

The M-10 is on Rocs sled, thats why he slides off the trail all the time and lots of stucks in the bush. Yamaha would have put one on there if they thought they were any good! Ancient technology. I have never seen a M-10 on a snowcross sled yet! they still use them out at Yellowstone for on-trail use for people with bad backs and health issues! I notice when we ride he gets a huge ice buildup and needs slides every 500 miles
