Funny John!

If you don;t mind me asking, even though we have a cottage in the UP Lake Gogebic area, I have never been to some of the places referred in the article.
Such as Manitou Island, Lac La Belle and Mount Bohemia. (We have been to Cooper Harbor, but did not stop on the way, since we where not familar with any of the other places).

Are the above desitinations accessible by car? Do U think driving from Lake G is worth the ride to visit the above places?

Thanks in advance for your feedback, if you have other places to visit you would recommend up in the Keweenaw, they are welcomed.

Cheers Todd

You can drive you car to both Lac La Belle and Mt Bohemia, although Mt Bohemia is privately owned, so you cannot drive your car up the hill.

Manitou Island is out in Lake Superior, so you cannot drive your car there. You can drive a car (I would bring a 4 wheel drive vehicle) out to High Rock Point and see Manitou Island from there.

As far as if it is worth the trip, my answer is kind of biased, but a definite yes. The terrain around here is different enough than that around Gogebic to make the trip worth it. Brockway Mountain is a neat drive for a car as is the east shore between Lac La Belle and Gay. Nice views of the Huron Mountains off in the distance.
