Spent the last hour reading it all. also went to Progressive web site and tore into that. Can you highlight any mention of owning or running or even any association of the guy and Progressive Ins. Co. He sure has done a lot in 80 yrs. on the planet. I am as conservative as one can get and I don't dislike this guy. Just another billionaire making more billions. ( I am just a hundredaire).

Called my Insurance agent for the house/ cars/etc.to see if I could get a better rate on my Bikes. She said Nobody she knows can beat Progressive Direct on bike Ins. in my area. Key word: Direct. not through an agent.

Soros is thought to be the funding source behind the primary push for the "new world order" movement - new currency system, global governance, etc. You might not be able to find any verifiable facts regarding this and there is a lot of allegations, but there's a lot of "smoke" out there with his name all over it. I wouldn't call him a friend of the USA or democracy in general.

It's not so much Progressive, but its chairman and primary shareholder, Peter Lewis, who, hand and hand with Soros, supports such groups as moveon.org, americacomingtogether (ACORN supporters), and the ACLU, all of which are extreme liberal groups. Progressive itself supports mainly non-political groups (heck, they advertise on foxnews).

This is probably WAY too political, but the information is all out there. I have very pleased with Progressive insurance, but I am not happy with how the profits flow directly into the pockets of someone who gives his money directly to groups who oppose my viewpoints.

As some of you are probably aware, the original George Soros post was taken directly off the "washingtonisbroke" website and as Hoosiersmit pointed it out, it says "the likes of George Soros", meaning Peter Lewis.

Personally, I don't have the time to do exhaustive research the causes and viewpoints of everyone associated with the companies and businesses I patronize. Even if I did, I would probably be: A. depressed or B. paralyzed with indecision. Besides, it most likely balances out in the end.

Based on the majority of posts on this thread, my take is that people are largely satisfied with Progressive service and value and if I had asked the initial question I would consider it reasonably well addressed.

P.S. Hoosiersmit, I originally entered your member name as "Hosersmit" - no offense.

Okay so are we staying or jumping ship with Progressive? No proof of anything, great bike rates, consider it my sea and snow. Lol

Thanks for all of the feedback on Progressive Insurance. I have a local insurance agent who quoted me the same rate through Progressive as on the Progressive site.

Was somewhat hesitant at first to just buy the insurance coverage online, but with a local guy literally down the street from me that writes for them, makes it easy.
